wakeup tailgunner Pilot	posted 01-29- 05:24 AM Ahhh phantoms...that brings back memories! My pop was AEO for 892 squadron on Ark Royal...the RN's number one Phantom squadron. The stories he tells.... like the time they had an 'exchange' with some Nimitz planes....they showed the Americans some real British beer...andthen had to carry their guests home.... And the one about the phantom that lost a wing tip...and the pilot made a neat landing on-shore to the horror of the RAF crewa watching. They couldn't believe the plane was in the air, let alone landing neatly... I could go on.... Yep...I think I can find out some info onthe Phantom too if you need it!
