Hope ya feel better Razer. Well Lil' Bastard, I'm open for suggestions. The 163 is nearing a DM done stage and I am wondering about me next project. Thinking about the F-4 Phantom, but let me know what you think we need.

Hey Aladar, so what's the plan with the Bf110? What is left to be done on it and what (if any of the list) do you plan on doing? We're getting incredibly close to a full set of the essential BoB planes, so it would be nice to see a few more get polished up.

I dont know about you guys, but what we NEED are some more WWI bombers/fighters!!!!!!!!! Why dont a few of you take a hop on over to the WWI side of SDOE? You might find that you actually like the aspect of it. Im taking a break from WWII and Im heading on over to WWI.

WW2 planes are for pansys who dont like to get wind in ther face... and are too lazy to reach up and grab their machine gun to shoot it. Also you guys take the cheap way out and have parachutes! You try flying a WWI areoplane without a parachute and see how much better you get at dogfighting.

just teasin with ya.

Hey Jeeves, I was thinking about the Mig-3 before I settled on the La5, what put me off was the handling of the Mig-3.. check it out, if you think the 51 is hard, the Mig3 will just kill you LOL It may be a future project though after other things are finished with, we'll have to see how much time I'm gonna have but it could be very very little for the forseeable future. As for my current projects.. IL2 is on hold for the moment, La5 is just about IL2 standard now and should be finished in the next month.

The most needed plane in SDOE right now is a finished one.

But I'll settle for a Caproni Ca.42

Sure Argon- but with all the tinkering OP allows, is any plane ever truly finished?

Think, when 2 gig CPU's and 400MHZ ram is out with video cards running 64/128 MB of memory, people can go back and double the poly's, redo the textures to have 8 or more maps for the exterior, divide the wings into more pieces (I forget the proper term so pieces will have to do) so they have more accurate flight characteristics, stick in more planes per mission, and have pilots that thumb their noses

I have seen the future and it is Open Plane. Kind of hit me the other day that Open Plane is such an incredible concept that you can make it grow with CPU horsepower, and it won't become outdated.

If only we could find someone to pay MH and Mighty to update the rendering engine, AI, and add some more options to Open Plane.

Cool Nat!! BTW, I no longer get a black view outside the cockpit of the La5....but there is some weird yellow tinting in its place....kinda like a glare, but it doesn't move when the plane moves. Also-- and this is the case on the Il-2, the gun sight is way up....but I realize there is a lot for one to do and will patiently wait....I hope your free time opens up--- the rest of the community is missing out on that awesome Il-2

Hey Jeeves, yeah I sent you one I was working on at the time and didn't tidy up, I'd taken a break and forgot to check it before I sent. Anyway, the stuff you listed, is that with the last one I sent you? On mine the sight is in correct alignmemt, if you just mean that it's high, well, it should actually be a little higher if we're being correct LOL, I'm still having a little trouble with the cloud glass, so I'll be dumping ity and importing a different one in it's place. Also, the engine DM isn't fully working, poly flag bug, I've just fixed it though Just wait till you see the Ai flying with a big hole in the wing and a H stab missin though, thats cool I really gottga do those damage panels with the big holes/tears though, looks silly with such a big space in the wing LOL

The main thing holding up the IL2 is the cockpit, I haven't had the gumption to start adding all the dials and stuff.

I'm glad you like them though Jeeves thanks alot

Since everyone has been asking ....
For the PBY to get to Beta 1 here are the items that must be completed:
1) Smoothing (done)
2) Engine DM (in process)
3) Beg and plead with Nat to skin it after numbers 1 and 2 are done
4) Fix a ground handling problem (show stopper)
5) Fine tune some DOFs
6) Give it to Argon for QA

The training missions, squadrons, cutaway have all been done (though not for Nations yet). The current FM is sufficient for Beta 1. It sounds like a lot, but not when you consider everything else that has been done... Many thanks to members (and non-members) of TeamPBY for getting us where we are

Heya Snick...

You know we care bro Glad to hear she is so close....training missions are done? Is that your way of saying you approve? I am actually thinking of re-locating some of them since I just recently got the Pacific terrain....although I may leave the Sub Hunt mission in Dover---it needs that sub pen!! However-- did the PBY operate in the ETO? I know so little about it...either way, Sub Hunt stays in Dover

Thanks to Elric I now have 3ways of the PBY, they will help alot on the skin now right now I have about the right colors and scheme, and the starts have been tidied up, but with the 3ways I can now do a more proper skin. The engine DM has been giving me some problems, but the more I work on aircraft the more I see where the problems are and why, so I think there wont now be any trouble taking my rotary engine straight off the La5 and dropping it into the PBY, and few changes here and there and it sould be ready, whats bugging me are why the thing keeps exploding, but I should be able to figure that out
