With my new Hercules Prophet MX the terrain textures are very low in detail! I have a very good frame rate but the landscape is poor!Only textures with objects (barracks, airports, bridges and so on)are detailed at max.
My specs: Duron 700 256 MB Ram Win ME Detonator 6.50.
Please Help!

I got a very similar set-up and it runs it fine with no problems.

A few things worth checking though.

Make sure all the detail sliders are maxed out in the SDOE display properties

Get rid of the texture cache that SDOE builds. The terrain textures will then be re-built. Games will load a little slower first time you use a terrain, but if you have some textures that are corrupt in there, this will cure them.

Try another set of drivers. The last 'official' drivers are the Det. 6.31
I have just started using the 7.17 and it seems to work fine. They are optimised for DX8, but I don't know what benefit they give!

I have the same card, on a PIII500E. I have been using my Voodoo2 card for SDOE, but decided I would try the Hercules. It works real well, except for 2 problems. One, the gamma is very dark and will not increase ( I am already maxed ) and online, when using ID tags, the tags 'flicker'. Other than that, it works great. I echo wt about the texture cache files - that was the first thing I did after changing to the Herc card.

Using Nvidia Det 3 6.31 drivers.
