Snickers made the plane i just put my new model to it and finished up a few things.

Once we get the gun pods working I will release it then get started on the F version.

Heres a few preview shots.. This has not been remapped just tricked into thinking it's been remapped. The current scheme is on two tifs and any p-38 scheme for the old J model will still work on this plane just need a small fix if you want the spinner to show up right.

Enjoy!

Should be released real soon...

Spanky here..

Question for u guys, why is the portion on the top of the nose and the top/inside of the naccels flat brown like that?

Is it a thing to keep down glare in the pilots eyes or something?

Looking great razer, Decent frame rate. What are the chages in total for this thing?

And you mean we are finally going to have more then one varient of the 38?

Snickers hasn't sent me the full list of changes he made but this is what i know and what i did.

Snickers:
fixed the tail to make it one piece, also made it strong to you can't shoot it off in 4 shots.

Added Gun Pod

fixed the FM a bit to show correct airPT values.

Razer:
Added new 3D model (only wings, radiator and cockpit framing is the same)

New 3D tails.

New more round wheels.

Updated mapping (not really but i'll add that)

I did the scheme but i do schemes for all the planes i touch.

Spanky- you got it, that's what the panels are for. In a P-38 you have to look out over the engine and if the sun iis in the right position, it'd smack you square in the eyes.

If you look through old pictures, you'll notice almost all planes with a metallic skin have the panels on the nose in front of the pilot (even the bombers)

Great stuff....and I know Snickers was doing some work on the FM too....

Now I can start work on a little side project.....the Night Fighter variant P38. I have a few pics of one, and it looks...different!

They put a radar pod under the nose, and somehow squeezed a second seat into the fuselage...cosy!

Actually the one I sent to Razer was the P38-LO-1 (I think that was the designation....) Not sure if it carried any bombs or not, but remove the 50mm from the nose and add 4 more 50's then put a gun pod under each wing, each carrying 2 50's and you end up with a total of 12, 50 cal mg's!!!! Kind of like the Mossie, dont get in front of that plane!!!

P-38L model is now done... As you can see the underside of the plane can be painted grey and give you a more accurate scheme. This plane is very very nice.. I've seen little to no drop in frame rates with the factory J version. The mapping is the same as the J version just tricked to think it's been remapped.

As soon as i finish the missions and get the stats file created i'll release her.

I'll copy over the engine DM from the J in condors last release. Then make the changes to be an L version.

This is not another P38MOD, any scheme for the facotry P-38J will work on this plane. (well, with a small fix to make the new spinner show up right)

in fact, i can remove the L add-ons and change the name and you have a new J model as well.
