Similar happened to me and I think, it was related to the sound card failure induced unintentionally by silly me, trying to overclock my Celery PC which stupid action caused a major screw up of my PCI devices, hawk!

I tried deleting the cache, it didn't help, the idle sound is gone. High revs engine sound is really nasty. Perhaps somebody knows which file to replace to fix it?

Nope no overclocking here. I can't this board is maxed out.

I forgot to mention, this is ONLY happening in SDOE. (isn't it always like that?)

What do you mean by "corrupted?"

What has changed on your system since they last worked?

Do you have any IRQ conflicts?

You might try reinstalling the .par files. There's no sound cache that can get corrupted.

Well they sound al distorted, like an amp pushed into overdrive

If was was playing a guitar throught it, it might be a good thing. LOL

No IRQ conflicts, like i said its only in SDOE too.

I'll try reinstalling SDOE, adn then maybe the soudn card.

SUcks though
