Hey all, I've been working on a Luftwaffe campaign for the pass two months now...hopefully it'll be released soon. I was making a loosely historical mission based on the first time P-51s and escort mission on Dec 8,1943 and set up things like I normally did and when my flight of 109's comes screaming in....the P51's just fly along like nothing is happening and we pounce on the bombers. I set the escort up just like I've done with all the other mission but the won't engage. So I decided to test and see if it's something I did wrong and changed the planes to P-51D's and the did like they were supposed to do and a furious air battle erupted between my 109s, the B-17s and the mustangs....has anybody else experienced something like this? I know I could just use the D model but I'm trying to make the missions in the campaign as realistic as SDOE will allow. Any advice would be appreciated.BTW-Is there a way to disable mid-air collision's? I swear I lose more planes to collision's than to enemy fire. I might hold off on releasing the campaign until the B24 and P-47 razorback come out...yeah, that might be a ways off but hopefully not too much longer...PLEASE:-) For my campaign your gonna need a pretty hefty computer..the number of planes is pretty large in some missions...I'll try to post some pics and somebody let me know if they wanna host it and when I get halfway done I'll email it to you and you can give me your opinion on improvements..LATA IP: Logged |

Myself having made two campaigns, a third in the making, I've found out that if you assign some fighters as escorts the normal way, they won't escort the bombers, nor engage the enemy. You'll have to set "sweep" waypoints for the fighters about where the bombers are supposed to go. That'll work.IP: Logged |

Yes, The B is crap. It was just a quick plane i could make from the A-36. the CoG is of and it never got a Flight model. It's on the list for updates.. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin "Making SDOE a dangerous Place, One plane at a time!" CAP works as well...but either way, there are times that the escorts will go and leave the bombers and strafe a field or town....despite using CAP or Sweep. I really wish they had gotten that right before it was first released...but there are usually work-arounds.One thing---check your aggression and skill levels...and more importantly- don't use the sliders as I have found that they reset themselves after you leave the mission creator. Instead-- open up the missions in NotePad and find the squads and change the numbers manually. If I want aggressive fighters, I usually change the numbers to .9 to .95 (90-95%). ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |

thanx for the response guys, I'm gonna try the sweep thing then if that doesn't work I'll try manually editing the values. to my second question, does anyone know if there is a way to disable mid-air's? Thanks in advance. LataIP: Logged |

I think you want CAP, not sweep. Sweep is an air-to-ground setting.Make sure you give the planes enough time to CAP for awhile. If it's too short then they could think they're done with their current CAP area and are moving on to the next waypoint. There's no way to turn off collisions. IP: Logged |
