This is a revamp of the Lancaster Mk II. It has three crew. The pilot's head follows the 'stick' position and the flight engineer's head tracks targets. The engineer's arm assists the pilot with the throttles and the pilot's arm moves as the bomb bay is opened. The bomb aimer lies prone in the nose section using his bomb sight. It adds a little more realism to the 'lanc' and it's neat seeing three chutes deploy when you shoot it down.

The damage model has been modified. The engines / props do not fall off but either loose RPM and smoke or feather / bend. If an inboard engine suffers maximum damage it's landing gear detaches, making landing back at base interesting. Visible fuel tank leaks have been added, oil pressure gauges fixed and the Lancaster now has more realistic airframe strength. The aircraft can be flown from the flight engineer's position and the pilot has a new seat.

**IMPORTANT NOTE ** The lanc.sm uses a lot of texture files. PC's with minimal RAM may experience square clouds or flak explosions during missions. To resolve this issue make non essential airfields / towns / factories invisible using mission editor. If this is unsuccessful then use the damage model only lanc.sm file, which does not have the extra crew.

damage model only (262k but no extra crew) available at:

If you can tell me how to add a visible crew member? I need the info for the Ju52 gunner.

Neato! Kudos!

BTW, is there any sort of super-easy guide to these sorts of things? For instance, "here's how to make the pilots head track the stick", "here's how to get a cockpit to open".

If you can point me to the messages detailing it, I'd be happy to write up the docs.

Is it RAM, or VRAM?

Sweet mace, I think the work you're doing with planes like the lanc and the mossie is brilliant. We need more of this kind of stuff!
