Hi all!! I guess I will get right to the point....I just picked up Fighter Squadron SDOE in a bargin bin at my local software store (been thinking about ti for awhile, but did not have enough time for another sim!)....anyway, I really do not have any idea about what it is that I need to get SDOE up to speed. I have been playing EAW (hope that is not a bad word around here) WW2F and just about every other sim worth playing. I am interested mostly in the Pacific Theater planes and missions.....but also like the idea of a WWI pack (I have RB3D as well) I have looked around on this forum some but I am still not sure how to update SDOE....well, I guess those are the only questions I have for now.....I am sure that the more I get into it, I will be asking more and more questions! Thanks for any and all replys!!Later Dondo ------------------ "Impossible?....watch this." IP: Logged |

Welcome Aboard Dondo. http://www.fightersquadron.com/standard.php3 I also suggest you make good use of the search function on the forum. While we tend to answer quickly, you can get instant gratification on almost any question by searching the forum. Happy Flying, Werner Molders P.S. - Hawk would it be possible to add a link to the standard.php page from the forum? There have been a few of these in recent weeks and it might make things easier all around. ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

Welcome to the sim and the forum. I hope you like it.There are few "dirty" words around here, and EAW isn't one of them. Although, that and other sims usually end up in the "off-Topic" section. The other "dirty words" (the real ones) end up in "Flame Wars". To get up to speed at this point and time you need the following files patch 1.5 Plane Pack 6.0 (PP6) Nations Version 2 There are many other good files you should add to enhance your gaming experience, but these are essential if you want to fly online. To download these can be time consuming, Spoonman has a "Catch-Up" cd you can get through him. Its worth it to have the hard copy in case you ever need to re-install. Otherwise, most of these files can be found at; http://www.simfiles.com/ The guys here are great and very helpful. You'll likely find some folks here who will treat you better than your own family. Online play is very friendly and fun. 99.9% of us are quite polite. This thread will likely get moved to "Help/FAQ". But I wanted to be sure you got an answer. I hope to see you online very soon. ------------------ goth =FC= IP: Logged |

Hi Dondo welcome to our forum. Most of us do fly other sims as well but we feel SDOE is by far the most versatile of all the sims currently available. Please feel at home here and enjoy!Werner there is a link at the top left of the General Forum first page. ------------------ Hawk Forum manager and bar keep http://rcwarbirds.com/ [This message has been edited by Hawk (edited 12-30-2000).] IP: Logged |

Welcome aboard!I don't have much to add to what the other guys have already filled you in on. If you watch this board you may hear of squad tournaments/ wars you may want to join in on. SDOE in spite of a few bugs truely shines online. IS SDOE even a dirty word anymore at the EAW forum, I think most of the anamosity between these 2 sims died awhile back. Everyone kinda realized were all flight simmers, not very different really, one likes chocolate and one vanilla is all. Hope we can fly together sometime real soon. PR=FC=
