I'm working over the Pacific terrain for nite ops and I'm stumped. Since most planes didnt have radar or ground control, were the night missions flown in full blown darkness or more of late evening. Right now I've got Dawn/Dusk looking great but, if Snickers wants Black Cat ops...IP: Logged |

I've gotten as far as d/ling it. I'll give it a go soon though. Its hard to post a picture of the shade of darkness as this NEVER shows up true. I'll mess with it a bit more and try to add some a/f lighting. IP: Logged |

I agree with SchaF, a early morning terrain would be nice. I found dovernight is to dark.Ok, realistic but i have not so much fun to play with. If anyone knows the darkness of WWII fighters, thats look nice at early morning.Rendsburger IP: Logged |

Oil drums or smudge pots..... The Black cats did their best attacks at full dark. (Hard to see a black plane, if you cant see it you cant shoot it. However, I agree, a late dusk would be best...------------------ Snickers =FC= IP: Logged |

Okay, I've adjusted the darkness where you can have dawn/dusk and night missions. The airfields can still be viewed without the aid of "lighting" and its not quite as dark as Dovernite. For night ops you'll need to set the fog and view distances to VERY CLOSE!Let me get back to it and wrap this up. IP: Logged |

I´ve tried out to get the flamebarrels (smkfire)working, but it works only at a very short distance (10m/30feet). Rendsburger IP: Logged |

The smoking barrels effect wont be enough. You have to add some texture "lighting" around the barrel, kind of like a campfire. Itried that and it looked a bit odd, more like the light that is pooled around a lightpost....not what I wanted. I think I'll go with the low light level that is associated with moonlit nights. You can always play with the view/fog distance to get pitch black anyways.IP: Logged |
