Ok it looks kickass Rendsburger so well done. Its cool to have a transport in the game, now we can have escort missions with special weapon cargoes etc. I love the doors!Anyway, the FM is a bit off but I guess you know that already. It takes off like a rocket but its top speed seems about 250 and that I guess is real. Stall speed is about 80 which I think is accurate. It can do loop the loops but rolls nice a sluggishly. ..."takes off like a rocket"... LOL In real life the take off distance is between 300-500m. Yes your right, it looks a little bit like "using an afterburner", but the horsepower is OK, maybe we will see a longer takeoff with cargo onboard.Rendsburger IP: Logged |

Kick Ass, Rendsburger, Great job. I have been messing with the P-51D a little, next up is work on the paratroopers.You can replace the BombDoor.wav sound you hear when you open the door with a different sound. Could be the sound of the wind rush in, or you could hear someone say something like "Prepare to jump". The only thing is that you will hear the same sound when you open or close the door. Raider, one thing more, is it possible to change the paratroopers release sound.Now we have the bomb falling sound.And i have changed the ripple delay time to 2000, so it looks more realistic, the only problem now is, that the door closed before the last troopers jumped out.But i think i can fix this. I will make a set of sounds for the paratroopers,Bombdoor.wav = "Prepare to jump" BombRelease.wav = "Go", you will hear "Go..Go..Go..etc." as they jump BombWhistle.wav = ChuteFlap.wav I will send these to you tonight. I have renamed the mk82.sm to paratrooper.sm, but still can't get the air properties to work. I will keep trying. IP: Logged |

Hi Rendsburger,I just downloaded the plane and was looking through the posts. I think it's probably overpowered. The max speed listed in Jane's WWII aircraft is 165 mph at sea level with a cruising speed of 132 mph. Da Jug Head, Overpowered? Letīs have a look:Ju52/3M stats: Empty Weight 12346 LBS aircVa (max. speed without physical damage) 165 knots 3 x 660 HP at 2400 RPM So in theorie all specs suppost to be realistic. And this is not the most powerfull version of the Ju52! Private Roger, no, the Paratroopers arenīt available yet, hope that Raider can fix a problem soon, so the paras will be put to the loadout. Rendsburger, I was going off Snake's post that he maxxed out at 250 mph. That's almost 90 mph too fast.BTW, the latest issue of Wings lists the max speed as 178 mph. It also has a cutaway view showing part of the interior. Would you like me to scan it and send it to you as a jpeg?

The Ju shouldnīt fly faster than 190mph. I donīt know why it is possible to do that.Do you know exactly witch version of the Ju52/3M listet to 178 mph.There was sooo many different versions built. Maybe i will decrease the aircVa speed. And yes, send me the picture! Rendsburger IP: Logged |

Reducing the aircVa will only make the AI fly it slower, I think you may need more drag on the wing airfoils.The prop information may need to be adjusted as well. Working on paratroopers now.  IP: Logged |

Iīve change the propblades from 3 to 2. Then iīve decrease the airK of the prop from .95 to .6 and reduce the HP to 600. Now the top speed is a little bit lower at 230.If anyone knows more,tell me. Raider, itīs possible to have different sounds for opening and closing doors. The only thing to change is the sound.ppf . And: all other bombers needs the original door.wav in their folders How many planes with Bombdoors did we have? B17,Ju88,Lanc and the Mossie or much more? So this is not to much work,to create this folders, if they arenīt there. Rendsburger

Does openplane allow you to change the max RPM of the engines? If so, would that slow the plane down?I'll have the pic for you tomorrow, I'm moving my scanner to a different computer and I've already stripped the drivers from the one it was connected to. Just to be forewarned. It only shows a section of the interior. Too bad it isn't like the cutaway of the HE-111 in the same issue. If the new sound wav files are in the sound directory of the plane it only effects that plane. I used this trick to make Dirk in the DVII talk.I am pretty sure that we can not create new sound calls, only modify existing ones. In other words, we can change the name of a sound when a gun is fired but we can not create new sound calls for other things, like if you want to hear the sound of the canopy being opened. Charm, good idea, that would slow the plane down, also using the new "drag" airfoil instead of the "CYL" makes a big difference. IP: Logged |
