Anyone else not able to download this terrain-I think the zips are incomplete when you try to reconstruct them.I have tried downloading with IE5.5 and I even downloaded netscape6 to try this with no success either.Any chance of Just one file somewhere else to download. This is very frustrating........

I must say this is wierd, I doubt this is happening, but don't rename any of the files, I know they have strange file names, but thats just how they should be i.e. Media.zip.001 is the correct file name, if anyone know whats going on please let me know cause I've enevr hard this problem myslef, and it seems the majority don't either, so I'd like to know whats going on here. Ten bat file cannot rebuild the zip file if the name has been altered.

I agree with graymon - I'm on a 56k and I don't mind the wait if it means I only have to deal with one file.

Nat, with IE 5 when i download the name gets corrupt, in the *save as* box it shows ok but then when i check the name in the dlding box its corrupt (media.zip.002.002 or media.zip.001..zip), so i had to rename each one manually for the batch to work.
Could you post the original names of the files so that we can rename them ?

I had no problems with IE5.5

Mind you, I don't think I used 'save as'

I think I just clicked on the tabs and let it save them. Perhaps this is what is causing the problem. Save As may not like the 001 extension, and is 'helping out' by giving it a 'valid' extension. Since Microsoft is never wrong, that must be o.k. Please ensure reality is changed immediately to fit with Microsoft. Thank you....

Spanky here..

You should try using a self extracting ace.

I've never actually seen a zip that spans. Wacky.

As Argon said, the files are Media.zip.001 up to .006 and a file called Media.BAT

I also use IE5.5, but don't have that problem, although I don't use the save as option, I just click the link and OK the next 2 windows. I really can't explain why some people are getting wierd results when others are getting the files fine, but xoom will only let me host a max file size of 11mb, so it has to be split up on my site, and to be honest, I'd always split up such a large file even if I could host the full thing, it's fine if people have the time to download a full 55mb file, but most of us on modems can't be connected for the time it would take, and having it split is just easier to download 1 part a day or something like that, it's just damn annoying when there seems to be a problem for some but not others although the same system is being used

Spanky here...

Yes but Nat people could just use a program like getright and download as much of the large file as they want at any time.

I don't understand why more modem users don't use it. I used to use it all the time for large demos. Heck I still use it on trouble files.

Graymon,

I downloaded the new terrain files twice and each time there would be a problem with the Media.zip file. After I read the earlier replies to this topic I noticed in Windows explorer that the Media.zip.001 file had a .zip extention added to it. I removed the .zip everything installed and worked fine. BTW - this was the only file that had the name problem and I am using IE 5.5
