A question for you that Razer asks me.Open the doors to the inside or to the outsides. Iīdonīt know it.In the moment the doors open to the iniside, because i thought that it is not easy to open a door to the outside if the plane is in the air. One problem is, that there was so many different versions of the Ju build, some with one door some with 2 some with a great door at one side and so on. Rendsburger

I would think the door would have to open to the inside. If it opened to the outside it would pull the person out that was trying to open it, then slam against the plane and you would never get it closed again while in the air.The C-47 had two large doors that opened to the outside that allowed loading of large materials (like crates and Jeeps) on one of the large doors there was a smaller (Passenger) door which opened to the inside. This was used when paratroopers would jump. IP: Logged |

I know for a fact that the doors open to the inside. IP: Logged |

Spanky here... Airline pic so I'm guessing this ISN'T how it was done on the mil models but ya never know.
Personally I wouldn't make it swing either way if i was the designer of the plane.
If you look on alot of photos the hinges seem to be towards the front. (yes even in mil photos) so if it swung inwards it would have to go flat against the wall to let troops by, that would take up uneccessary room. I would have it slide towards the back of the aircraft. IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. Like I said argon, this is an airline model. I can't see the mil version being like that. Who wants to push a door open into a 100mph wind?

Spanky, i know most of the links, but the first one is new to me :-) The Hyperscale Ju52 looks like an repainting after war licence building spanish Casa with the long tube engine. We need a pic of a Ju52/3mg4eF. This should be the paratroopers transporter. I know that there is a historical Ju52 at a near Luftwaffe airbase, 8 miles away from my hometown, maybe i can have a look at the Ju, if they let my into the airbase :-) Rendsburger

Regarding the door on the military version, it could be popped out OR it folder into the plane. Im 100% certain of this now. IP: Logged |

Spanky here... ArgonV, that would make alot of sense. I still say a slider would have been best. Rendsburger have you got the Gear articulating?

Spanky here... Sorry, What i ment was does the gear move up and down when you land? Like absorb the shock. I wasn't talking about the doors anymore.

Spanky, LOL, now i know what you mean. No, in the moment the gear canīt do that. I donīt know about the possibility to do something like that in SDOE. So the gear is straight vertical, i realy donīt know to change this.Rendsburger IP: Logged |

Spanky, OPS allows to set an shock absorber only at translational objects, but for the Ju we need to do that with rotating objects, so i think this is not possible.Rendsburger IP: Logged |

Rendsburger,It's a beauty! I don't think we can improve the gear any though, it's great as it is. You can't use rotating DOFs for springs so I think this is as good as it gets. I love the plane, and the cockpit is great too. Congrats on a great job Can't wait to see this thing drop some paratroopers!
