Had great Fun Online, With the Spitfire 1a 's new set of teeth, I'm sure it now won't be the forgotten plane of SDOE anymore! It's not a tiger by any means but it's a fair loadout to address the balance, realistically for Online BOB War. The overall impact with this loadout on the other planes is very minimal, It's needed now! We JG3 are currently Testing it as a squad against the Chicken =FC= and have some independant Pilots also judging it! for ONLINE. So Far so good With the Flak being worked on too, A And my favourite bird of the moment, the Stuka , I've been flying her online, shes so gracefull!, Put practically needs a bit more power. I would love to see this plane get flown more in formation, 3 or more especially!. If all these could be rolled into a ONLINE planepack patch,, wow! IP: Logged |

Thanks Pye for that feedback. Spoonman did a great job with this; all it needed was some testing, and you guys are the greatest for going ahead with it. To all of you who have participated in testing, thank you from the bottom of my heart.I believe we are still planning on using these in our squad match on Saturday the 9th? Or do you want to give it another week of testing? Any other feedback, pro or con? Thanks again!!

OK Saturday 9:30pm GMT Squad War JG3 v =FC= (any one else in lobby who who wants to try it can come along. We sometimes fly missions simultaneously; so non-squad memebers, ie mercenaries!! usually get to fly ) We aim to have a fullball off fun Make sure you all got Spoonmans Zip,, It's a basically an aircraft folder. Just Backup your old aircraft Folder, so you can restore fast. Remember this is a test on a global scale! because its WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are using the Squad War Scoring System, If you are in a mission please notify you Flight Captain of your Kills and your status after the game, ie got home an landed safe etc,so the overall 4 Day War score can be updated. Let the Battle of Britain Commence. For More information see LWN (Luftaffe Network) ------------------ 9./JG3_Pye If it Flies.....lets fly it!! IP: Logged |

Ok, we used them online in our squad war today, and ---------- I am prejudiced, as I played a small part in this ----------but-------to me, it was more successful than I had hoped. Spit1a's vs 109's and 87's! I was in heaven, but scared to death that somewhere it would prove to be overly powerful or not enough...*sigh*Well, from all appearances, neither was true. What great fun, and at the same time, pulse pounding action. No longer can you sit and let 7.7's or 7.9's pound on you; your craft will suffer for it, and while you may keep flying, getting home may be quite difficult. I discovered no evidence of Uber performance as of yet, in fact, just the opposite - they are less explosive than I had expected, but good piloting, skill, and more than a little luck will at least allow you to survive to fight another day, even if you start out with only the low caliber guns. I haven't smiled this much about SDOE online in a long time, and my thanks to a great group of pilots who helped make it possible!

if you would like to test the 109k4 with my DM inbuilt, using normal spit loadout values let me know, offline I've found it very good but it could do with online testing really, cylinderhead, oilsump and radiator are modeld seperately and can me moved around easily to allow for greater or lesser chances of hits rather than messing with gun values, let me know guys, it could do with some widespread testing before I can refiine it more.~Nat~ IP: Logged |

OK, I'm uploading it now, it wont display on my website, but the d/l link is http://members.nbci.com/naturlich/bf109k4.sm if you are using netscape you will probably have to right click the link and choose "save as" This DM is direct and directional damage, hit the part to do the damage, so the only advice I have is aim for the engine.. as you should be anyway Let me know how you get on cause if you're still finding it hard (or even to easy) I can move the parts to make it easier of harder to kill, with a DM like this you should expect to down the 109 but not neccessarily destroy it, it allows for critical engine damage, not massive airfrae damage.. realism and all that Only other note is that I've not tweaked the smokotrails yet, ie they wont appear from the exhausts but from the engine block, oile sump or coolant damage WILL kill the engine, it's just a question of time, cylinderhead damage will loose you cylinders and power. Angain, let me know how you get on and I'lll see about making it better. Thanks guys ~Nat~ [This message has been edited by Nat (edited 12-10-2000).] IP: Logged |

We've Been flying ONline and 4 of us notice that the Cockpit, is an open one,, Der Boom noticed it is Upside down, and we agree that could be the case,,Was flying with spit1a new loadout, and Beaufigther,, and survived eequally well with both,, In fact i too loads of hits in it and got a smoke engine but no loss off power! ------------------ 9./JG3_Pye If it Flies.....lets fly it!! I just did some checking.. somehow the SM file for the 109 got fried, checked it out in SDOE and it had no canopy, removed the sm files, tried again, 109's fine.. so I dunno why it got fried, but I'll sort it out and post it again in the future for testing when I know it's straight. Thanks again Pye, sorry to have waisted you and the guys time ~Nat~ IP: Logged |

The cockpit got moved down when you reloaded the Bf-109 in OPS. Happened to me before. Just find the file refrence and move it up in OPS.IP: Logged | |
