Ok so here I am experimenting AGIAN with pilot\copilot positions on the Mistel (Thanks to Pvt. Roger ) Brace yourselves now......... I detached the modified Ju88 on the Mistel while retaining the pilot position on the Ju88! (It didnt fall off) I could swap back between the Bf-109 and the Ju88!

Now the bad part... there are a few problems that I have to work out....

1. I dont know why/how it exactly works.

2. If you dont jump back in the Bf-109 real fast, the pilot of the Bf-109 bails out.

3. I cannot control the Ju88. I can only just look around in the position.

4. I have to have another pilot position on the Ju88 with a few Funcs to keep the pilot that stays on the Ju88 from detaching. (This also goes under the "I dont know why/how it exactly works" section)

5. This is in no way AI compatible. If fact... its probably the AIs worst nightmare.

Now what does this all mean/going to mean? Well if I can get it working correctly, this means we can have "deployable fighters" from heavy bombers and such. We COULD attach a Me-163 for instance onto a He-111, fly the He-111 up really high and if it gets intercepted... jump into the Me-163 and dogfight! Or we could have maned suicide bombs! (Like the Jap Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka that was launched from a Betty bomber)

I just thought I would let you guys in on this...

Fantastic!!!

I got your email BTW, but wasn't sure what to do with the attached file.

Could this also allow multiple position aircraft to be manned online by more than one person?

How ever it turns out..keep up the experiments!

Pvt. Roger, do you have Plane Pack 6? If so just extract the Mistel1.sm file to the Media\aircraft\Mistel1 folder. If you dont have Plane Pack 6 or the Mistel1, download the Mistel1 from my site and then extract the Mistel1.sm file to the Media\aircraft\Mistel1 folder.

If I can get this thing to work correctly, it MAY work on-line with multiple crew positions. But as I have no clue how SDOE on-line works.... I cant say anything for sure about that subject.

Now back to experimenting....

Yeah, I tried it out. I was in the 109 then I F7 into the Ju88. Very nice!! I think you may be on to something son!

Don't stop now, this could be ground breaking stuff.

Pvt. Roger... that SM file I sent you is NOT the one Im experimenting with now. On that one if you detach the Ju88, the pilot position on the Ju88 falls off. With the one I have now, it doesnt!

2 questions... if you F2 which do you follow?
Second, this could allow us to make the RC glider bombs that the FW-190's and the JU-88's(?) carried. ;} Kiss Nat's ships goodbye... ;}
It may not be perfect if we have to fly it down, but better than nothing.... ;}
Well done Gents.. keep it up.

ArgonV,
yesterday i thought at the same idea with another background.I was thinking about the paratroopers for my Ju.
My idea is following:
I creat an invisible plane, maybe with one little wall, inside the Ju52 with 14 Pilots.
then i create a gun for the Ju, so if the Ju pilot fire his gun about this invisble aircraft all pilots bailed out.
I have it not createt yet i have only thinking about the possibilty of bailing out paras.
My other idea is to creat a paratrooper like a bomb so it can damage structures if it hit one.
This will be the best way, because AI can fly and bail out the paras too and it can be a mission goal.
The problem here is creating a living bomb with a parachute.

Mirthain, we already have glider bombs! Theres a Ju88 which launches a V1 and it glides far. (You dont have to control it as its an actual rocket and not an aircraft) I pioneered that when I first attached the flying V1 to the Dauntless (Anyone remember that?) and tried to get engines working on it. (To no evail) Then someone scaled it down, stuck it on the Ju88, made it glide far (With minimal help from me... it kept on blowing up and dissappearing.) and put it up for download! Its rather fun.

If you press F2, you go back to the Bf-109... but you can press F5 and you are back to the Ju88 which detached. The problems have yet to be solved.... I still cant control the Ju88. Now I did manage to gain control of the Bf-109 whilst in the Ju88... after the pilot of the 109 bailed out. (That was wierd)

P.S. I fixed the problem where the Ju88 was an Allied aircraft and its name was "unknown" Ive made it where its now under the Axis power and its name is MistelBomb. (Those of you who have the Mistel, hit Alt V to turn on the aircraft tags and you will see what Im talking about)

ArgonV great news! I hope we can eventually have bombers on line with all posistions manned. This is one thing I was hoping for with B-17II but maybe we can finally do it.

Hmmm... radio controlled bombs eh? This again goes under the "cannot-control object-once detached" problem..... If I can get that working, Ill be in heaven!

I need to find some way of making an object controlable once detached. That would help me in the glider area, the on-line multiple position area and the radio remote control area.

Check this out argonv, a radio controlled glider bomb which was switched to a radar seeking bomb developed by the Germans in WW2.

Also included a picture of 3 BV246 attached to a HE111.

Commando, thanks for the info! I have a few books with guided glider bomb specs and details aswell. Some of these glider bombs were surprisingly successfull in the anti-shipping area.
