During a test flight yesterday afternoon, Hien 001 crashed after control falure. The pilot is fine but the plane was damaged pretty bad. As you can see in the photo i'm working on something a little different on the damage of the Ki-61. I'm kind of going with the WW2 Fighters approach to damage. I'll also have things like condors engine damage (already in ) and some cool things in the cockpit. This is just an early version of the damage, i will do more but i wanted to see what people think of this type of damage. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin "Making SDOE a dangerous Place, One plane at a time!" Razer - I think this kind of damage is great! I like the whole spar idea there. My only reservation however is that the remaining part of the wing is separated from the damaged part by a perfectly smooth cut, as though with surgical precision! Would it be possible to add a partial texture to the damaged part so that it looked more like the aluminum was torn away instead of cut away?Awesome work! as i was telling spanky last night, you can't see in the image but the metal is all scratched up. This is just an early version to see "how is it?". the final version will look a lot better. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin "Making SDOE a dangerous Place, One plane at a time!" It's exactly the approach I am trying for the Camel. How is your wing constructed?I went for a complete frame, with wing panels laid on top. Is yours a damage LOD? Sounds like we need to form 'Team Damage' here! There are a few people looking at these aspects, and judging from the heated comments regarding .303 and online damage, a cure is a high priority. Since we seem to be working along similar lines, whose in favour of teaming up for an info share? Nat, Raider, Condor ? IP: Logged |

Right now mine is just a damage LOD. when the wing tip comes off, the ribs show up. i can do more, but as i've stated before, it's just testing right now.. well see how things go in a few days, right now i need to get back to working on the hangar. oh joy!wake, if you want to drop me a line, we can talk about the damage stuff. ------------------ Tony "Razer" Martin "Making SDOE a dangerous Place, One plane at a time!"
