Heh heh!

Hip gave me a sneak preview, and it is fun! Having the tanks and planes included is definitely a bonus. I had a few problems to start with from not having read the docs properly....I'll learn one day!

Favourite mission for me has to be the first one you fly as Italian ( DF04 the other side, I think )

I got into a real nip and tuck dogfight, got the upper hand on a pair of enemy planes....crunch....my damn wingman flew into me!

The missions did highlight one bug though...when I jumped a pair of Stukas who thought they might bomb my airfield, they dropped bombs too low, and blew themselves up. Don't know if the AI is to blame, or what, but it seems to me that if you dive-bomb, you have to let the bombs go awfully high....

It's got to be said, there have been a real shortage of good offline missions, and now I've had 2 in as many weeks! This one is different and varied, and well worth the download!

Thanks Hip!!!!

A solution I found to the "AI-Killing themselves-Because of bombing" problem was to decrese the bomb warhead. The bomb explosive power is WAY over pronounced in this game. (Ive said that before I believe)

Figures I use are:

1000 lb bomb - 200
500 lb bomb - 120
250 lb bomb - 90
100 lb bomb - 40

*NOTE* I pulled these figures out of my wazzoo but they work well.

The values are in the loadout.ppf files for the actual planes. You could release a set of .ppf files with the planes, but then not everyone may want to change their bomb values!

Best bet would be to put a note up on your site, with info on how to change the values. You only need to open them in notepad and change the bomb warhead values. Alternatively, I can knock up a set which you can post as a seperate download on your site. I can even test them out for you first! ( any excuse for a bit of flying!)

p.s. been thinking about the torpedo thing....can't see that that could be made to work. Nasty water!!! It'll kill anything that can move. You could make a static thing that could maybe fire a torp, but where is the fun in that!

Still, with carriers, Cam ships, and plenty of planes that WILL carry torpedoes there is still much fun to be had! I still reckon a Convoy escort / destroy would be the best storyline to follow. Start from locating it, work through to bombing the living daylights out of it. Cam ships for defence, even have a mission involving manning Flak defences on a merchantman. Convoy threatened bu German capital ship....sink the scharnhorst to save the convoy.....If Aladar finishes his Barracuda, you have an ideal plane to play with too!

Great job on this campaign!

I have flown about 3 missions so far, and I'm really impressed by the mix of action and strategy.

Good work!!!

Nice hip! It's always good to see interest in drivable ground vehicles. On that note, if anyone is using these vehicles online, would you mind making a mental note of any stability issues beyond the usual DTage? (and then emailing me please) Archy and I were talking the other evening and it seems he's encountered some online stability problems with the tanks.

Excellent!!!! I just made second mission yesterday evening.
Impressive! Naturally, when I released my bombs, I was too much near the ground and I exploded. Fun!!! Anyway, I killed them! arh arh.
