Well if you remember, after Pete's job, the ezboard period, the FSIC opened its doors on 11/21/99 and everybody forgot !
A nice year I spent with you all

Yup

I've had SDOE in beta and full form since November 1998, two years now. It's still installed and still my favorite sim. I really was expecting some of the newer sims to take the helm but so far they just aren't doing it. The last one in the group that just may as well take the lead is IL-2, but like everything else, I have to see it to believe it. SDOE just has such a nice blend of features, physics, expandability, views, and so forth that it will be very hard for any new game to measure up to. Oleg Maddox tells me it'll all change with IL-2. We shall see. I hope he's right, but that won't stop me from enjoying SDOE for another year or two (or three).

Pete - I agree on all counts! I am looking forward to IL2 a lot, but even if it is really good/advanced/whatever, I plan on staying with sdoe because even when I go for long periods without flying (even offline) - the innovation in this community alone is enough to keep me around.

Now where's the cake?

Werner
