Hey Guys, well the Sturmovik is flying, I've completely rebuilt it cause I wasn't happy, and used a different aircraft s the base that just gave better results, the problem now is finding data on the aircraft, I only know of one site that one of you gave me last time http://angela.ctrl-c.liu.se/misc/ram/il-2.html but it only gives very basic data, and most of the links to other IL2 sites are dead, I really need any sites you know of or any data you have on the Type 3 2 seater, so far all I have is: Engine 1780HP (unknown RPM) Weight 4525kg empty wingspan 14.6m Length 11.6m Height 4.11m Wing Area 38.5m Speed 404km/h weapons: 2*23mmVYa 2*7.62mm ShKAS 1*12.7mm UBT Bombs 750kg Rockets 4*RS-82mm or 4*RS132mmI really could do with more info, like max RPM, climb rate, roll rate etc. Also, due to lack of info/pics I've used the Yak3 main panel and dials, so I coulkd do with cockpit info aswell really. If you have anything at all that might help I'd appreciate it guys, I can make it "feel" right, but that don't mean it is right.. right? lol Thanks all ~Nat~ ------------------ 7./JG3 "Naturlich" "SDOE... If you want any info on the IL-2 I would suggest searcing Blue Bytes messageboards. I haven't seen a recent cockpit shot of the IL-2 but there are older ones in circulation.------------------ Yardstick painted this IP: Logged |

Hey.. thats looking great!! Heres what little i haveAircraft : Il-2 Year : 1940 Engine : 1 x AM-38F , 1760 hrs.pwr. Wingspan : 14.60 m Length : 11.65 m Weight : 6360 kg Max. speed : 404 km/h Ceiling : 3500 m Range : 765 km Crew : 1-2 Payload : 500kg bombs and 16x82mm rockets Armament : 2x23mm + 1x12.6mm + 2x7.62mm guns On October 12, 1940, the BSh-2 (Central Design Bureau - 27) prototype strife airplane, the famous IL-2 version designed by S.V. llyushin, made its first flight. For the first time In the world llyushin had achieved the major breakthrough in developing of an armored strife airplane, including armor plating in the airframe configuration Early In October 1939 the TsKB-55 prototype two-seater strife airplane took off in the air. Unfortunately, series production of the two-seater strife airplane was delayed. Despite Ilyushin protests a decision was taken to build one-seater strife airplane. The one-seater modification was made rapidly and In October 1940 V.K. Kokkinakki started test flights on the TsKB-27 strife airplane. After minor changes had been made, the aircraft was accepted for series production and designated IL-2 in January 1941. The aircraft take-off weight comprised 400 kg bombs on Internal suspension, two 23mm guns VYa-23 and two SHKAS macnine guns: all In all 5.310 kg. The strife airplane was powered by the AM-38 engine, which developed 1665 hp at 433 km per hour near the ground. The RS-82 and RS-132 rockets were mounted under the wings. In March 1941 the first strife airplane was built. The 'flying tank' was baptized by fire on July 1, 1941 on the outskirts of Bobruysk and the River Berezina. First combat revealed Its high effecflveness against ground targets and amazing survivability. However, during the first air fights the strife airplane also disclosed its "Achilles heel" - it lacked rear fire means. Consequently, S.V. Ilyushin was commissioned to develop a two-seater. By mid-October 1942, the strife airplane with cockpit with the UBT large caliber machine gun for a gunner/radioman, had been launched in series production. At least 36000 various modifications of the IL-2 were produced. IP: Logged |

Thanks Tail, thats about what I got barring small differences, which in al lthe info I've found on the net isn't unusual, lots of similar but different data for the same versions, I got some screen shots from IL2 Sturmovik, so atleast that gives me an idea what I need to do in the pit.. wish I hadn't looked now.. LOLI'll carry on trying to find more specific data, but if I can't find any I will build the FM to what I believe feels realistic and unfortunately that will have to do, but I havn't lost hope of getting good specs yet IP: Logged | |
