Well, you could just change the name of the software to something like 'Photographic WWII Art'.

WOWCan you imagine how many copies of SDOE would have been sold if they could have had an image like this in their ads and decent frame rates? Makes me wanna cry that the two can't be worked out. IP: Logged |

Little does eveyone know that after that shot was taken every B-17 collided with every other B-17 (Due to the AI not being able to think because too much processor power and RAM power was taken to ATTEMPT to render that whole mess) and the explosions that thus occured soon afterwards dropped the framerates to the -70s. try that with my updated B17 model.....p.s. If the framerates had been o.k. and the AI could fly a tight box formation....would you take on that lot in a lone attack! p.p.s. 7.4 is not that bad...... IP: Logged |

Wasn't someone building a gutted B-17 just for that purpose? It still had the same functions and same FM and DM, but without all the interior graphics and stuff...------------------ BJN 1968-1996 R.I.P. IP: Logged |

Yep...it's all part of my ongoing 'build a better B17' project. It was intended to ease FR problems with the higher detail B17 I am building. No reason why I can't test teh theory by gutting an ordinary B17!!!!!Cockpit dials would mostly have to go.....interior LOD, seats, high detail gun LODs.....yep, could shed quite a lot of stuff. Wouldn't want to fly it, but as an AI opponent, no reason why not. As Lng as FR's improve! IP: Logged |

Jetlag,Up your resolution to your max setting, this will help framerate substantially because your cpu will have more pixels to spread the b17 images over I wonder what happened to your framerates when the combined defences of those 17s opened up on your load fighter. IP: Logged |

I have a B17 raid mission I fly all the time in which the framerates are totally useless but which I have a great time. It's me and a flight of 5 other 190s vs two stacked flights of 6 17s or lancs(12 total). They rarely don't reach their target, and usually dispense with the 190s in about 30s.I have a variant with p51 escorts. IP: Logged |

I agree with someone else in this thread: 7.4 is a great frame rate with all those planes. On my 200 MMX with VooDoo II, I cannot get 8 * Ju88s, 6 attacking Spitfires, and 4 * 109's (escorts) and 4 * P37's (which are supposed to attack the 109's) which are NOT in the picture to run at 7 fps. And once I start attacking the Ju88's, I get 4 fps!!!!What machine is that and is it VooDoo or Direct 3D? Regards, Mark Walsh. The stock Typhoon Airfield Attack mission starts at about 9 fps and goes down to 7 when attacking the airfield. IP: Logged |

Hehe There are 48 B17s in there somewhere and a lone Fw190A3 (all set to the same side or I wouldn't have been able to get too close ) I had tried 99 B17s but I think they streched off the physical terrain and I CTD - lol It was running on a Thunderbird 1GHz, GeForce2 32Mb, 384Mb RAM. It was almost playable as well IP: Logged |
