"Finally the PP6!" I thought some days ago Now, after a loooong download I find myself with less planes than before...I wondered if it's possible to create a less "invasive" version of the PP, as I even have to change all the sounds again (and it's a long, boring chow, believe me!)... I'm not blaming the creators for this, I know they worked hard on it, but it's just my opinion, I just would like a PP that upgrades the flight models, adds the missing one but that doesn't clear the old ones!!!li'l b P.S. This is my really first impression,I just installed it and I didn't check out the options, maybe I'm wrong... ------------------

Any planes you had before are now in a folder marked 'oldaircraft' etc. The installer tells you this is going to happen. All you have to do then is to move the things you want back into the directory. Nothing apart from that has been re-named. There is no need to add extra folders, just move back the planes you want to re-add. It's better this way, since anything you put in to the aircraft folder over-rides the Par file. Online standards are the main driver behind the plane pack standard, but even if you play offline, as I do, having a clean installation in neat and tidy par files is a lot nicer. This way, nothing gets overwritten for anyone. It just moves it. p.s. If there is one thing I have noticed about this forum, and that is that peoples opinions are always listened to, and that a lot of us really do care! IP: Logged |

I care about all opinions, good and bad comments I try to take constructively - because I believe the author intends them that way. I considered releasing the pack without an installer - and indeed could have done so - but then online compatibility problems would have been a problem. It might be a better solution if we could check for all of the potentially conflicting files and remove only those presenting a problem but that would result in a very complex installer with more potential bugs. The current system is perhaps the simplest and most practical. ------------------ Spin Visit Spin's Planepack Site to learn more about planepack V6.0 and ongoing development of the planepack IP: Logged | |
