According to Gustavo's page, the Ju-88DN is a fictional, or "fantasy" plane. I don't know for sure, but should this one have been included with the planepack? The others Gustavo made, the series of Fw-190s, appear to be aircraft that have actually seen service, yet they are not included in the pack. Also several of the planes in PP6 are still considered Beta planes, AFAIKNot trying to bitch, just some suggestions. Good job on the PP, spin! No more contest pack and a new online standard! Not that I get to play online anymore, but still... ------------------ -=TheReaper=- IP: Logged |

If the Ju-88 is to remain in the pack, would it be possible to edit it and take out the two extra gear? And then just close up the engine doors for those two gear in OPS?IP: Logged |

it is a good question Reaper, personaly I think that fantasy aircraft should be allowed, but with a big heading at the download area and readme file stating that it is only fictional, we have alot of different aircraft now, from every era, and I don't honestly think it fair to discount someones work because it's not a real aircraft, but I really do think it should be made very clear that it's fictonal, this is maybe going to be one of those things that in the future will cause a split in the plane packs to different types, like WW1 pack, WW2 pack, Post WW2, Modern and Fantasy/X-aircraft (notice I don't list Jets as a pack, since post ww2 aircraft and modern also include props and jets)IP: Logged |

I would have to agree. x planes are great, but you don't want to have things getting unbalanced. Perhaps we should add a new 'Nation' for X planes? That way, they wouldn't be mixed with the real planes, and anyone wondering if the thing actually existed would be clear on the fact that it was fictional/never built/prototype. They are great to play with, but not ofr serious play! IP: Logged |

Fantasy planes are great I just don't think they should be included in the Plane Packs. This may have just been an oversight and the Ju-88DN included by accident. ------------------ -=TheReaper=- IP: Logged |

I proposed my airplanes leaving clear that the Ju 88 DN is a supposed secret weapon, even in Sim Files. Somebody told me that they would possibly include it, due to the shortage of German bombardiers. I believe that in a future it would be good that the 190 were included, and mainly the Spit USSR for the friends that enjoy with the Soviet airplanes, and they don't have so many versions. To be honest, when Gustavo requested his planes be included I tried to download the three of them but had difficulty getting the 190s (before they were posted at Simfiles). I managed to get the Ju88DN and not realizing it was fictitious included it. I did try to find info on it (without success - now I know why).I was perhaps premature including it. But it could be interesting to have a few missions with a 4 engined Axis bomber. I did not include the winter version because there aren't winter terrains online. Anyway, on Gustavo's 190s I have yet to test them or pick them up. I am curious to get feedback on these. Should they be included? How many variants of the same plane should we include in the plane pack? There are several new spits coming or available as well. Personally I tend to lean toward limiting variants to minimize the pack size and allow for unique planes. I don't see a hard and fast limit on this. As I see it if the plane represents a historically important variant or a unique OpenPlane enhancement then it should be included. I believe multiple variants represent a significant problem for standardization and consistency. And we tend not to use too many variations anyway (with perhaps the exception of the 109s). To illustrate, the 190 series is a prime example of this. I don't know what fm's Gustavo's variants are based on. However the 190a3 and 190a4 (virtually identical variants) don't share a common fm right now, and both the 190a3 and 190a8 suffer from a list to port while the 190d9 leans starboard(the landing gear drop down on one side or the other when you enter a mission (try training takeoff to see what I'm talking about). This problem was fixed in the 190a4 months ago. Should we add two more? IP: Logged |

Unless the new 190 mods have FM & DM that matches their specifications (at least relative to the existing Fw190s) I personally don't think they should be added. Simply put if you just add extra cannon to a plane without a subsequent FM degrade due to the increased weight and drag, you essentially end up with a 'uber' fighter. I am sure that there aren't many allied pilots who fancy going up against a Fw190A with 30mm cannon pods that handles like an A-4.
