Biggs,The installer, should not have deleted your skins folders. There should be an oldaircraftpp60 folder that the installer created. You should find all your add-on textures in this folder. To add them back to your active plane set move the desired texture folders into the appropriate aircraft folders in the new aircraft folder. Missions should not have been removed. If you decide to go back to pp5.3b simply uninstall pp6.0, it is designed to return the folder to how it was before installer pp6.0. Could you please explain, what happened during the installation that stopped it form working? IP: Logged |

This is why you either install a completely new SDOE for on-line standard stuff, or back up your files... I back up ALL of my SDOE files into zips at the end of each week.IP: Logged |

Biggles,Either your download was corrupted (fairly common- in this case, you'll need to DL it again, preferrably from an alternative source) or your system didnt' handle it correctly. As always, (as ol' Chuck would say "good thing this is just a simulator"- It could have been something much more important to your well-being) before applying patches or updates to important software, either make a backup of it entirely or know beforehand which files the update will be dealing with and safely set aside only those files. This is _not_ a reason not to use pp6 IP: Logged |

The installer backs up or in this case renames all the original files before it copies anything so if for some reason it crashed it would still all be present there and seeing as all I did was renamed about 6 files and 4 directories it would be painfully obvious which ones they were.I have never seen install vise installers do this however as the first thing setup does is verifies the file. If anyone else experiences this I would like to know so I can report the bugs. ------------------ William Gall http://www.simfiles.com IP: Logged |
