I know that people have made changes before which allowed a user to alter the light and darkness in the game. I was curious if a default map of each theater could be made that would be Dawn, Dusk, Night, for each theater? Giving us new theaters, i.e. Africa Dawn, Africa Dusk, Africa Night, etc.If we had actual terrains that had the sky coloring change to reflect these times of the day, mission creation, and the moods that mission creators try to create would really be inhanced, not to mention how cool it would look. I just have no idea if this is possible, or how big of a project it would be. I ask this in hopes the "experts" will let me know. PR=FC= IP: Logged |

I don't believe separate terrains are necessary for this. The beta builds by MH (Build 65 was perhaps the most stable to date) allow for custom created sky and fog colours. This allows you to change the sky colour to whatever you want. (Dawn, Dusk, Dark, etc). Along with the Dover Night terrain. This makes for a very flexible package. Colours are set my manually editing the mission text file - see the beta readme for details on syntax.BTW, now that some people have figured out airfields for the Pacific, could we put together a plan to get them working properly in the Dover Night terrain? I knew of this, but if I wanted to create a dawn, or night mission right now, and wanted to play it online, what would my fellow flyers see? If we had a "Dover Dawn" terrain, then by default they (if they had it) would see the same thing I was seeing. Does that make sense?PR=FC= IP: Logged | |
