The only thing I can see being tricky with this is the 'floor'If you make it 'death star' you could make a slice of death star, but would need something to make the edges look believable. You can't make a sphere for terrain, without having something to cover the floor as it were.
Might be better to have a lunar landscape terrain with some funky rock formations.
No reason why there couldn't be a death star object up in the sky though.
Ever since Istarted looking at terrains, this is something I have wanted to try.
Currently, all the terrain is down at the bottom. Why not put 'terrain' up in the sky!
The Island terrain Parsoft released has the island and the sea as spereate referenced models. It works. I have put airfields floating in space when trying to make an aircraft carrier that AI would use. It works.
Put the two together, and you could make a floating space station with 'airfield' as in Battle Star Galactica, or with a rotating DOF, drop star-furies from Babylon 5.
The planet bit would help to explain the existance of Gravity!
It would be interestign to see if the AI can recognise the existance of terrain in the sky!
