THIS CONTINUES TO BE A BETA PLANEPACK FOR TESTING ONLY IT IS NOT ONLINE STANDARD!
(YET )

The changes to this version of the beta planepack do not involve changes to the planes from the first beta pack, so if you've downloaded the beta 1 installer already you don't have to download this version. The new version has several new feature as described in Dogma's post earlier.

You can find it here: http://game.3dgw.com/~files/index.php3?url=spin/planepack6beta2.exe

(my site is linking to this location for now).

Just wanted to report in.

No problems so far.

The only peeve was no change in either the vehicles or training dirs when there was a change in the aircraft dir. Evidently something that this new pack does.

I loved the fact the unpacker took care of the par files wonderfully (removed data13.par).

Looking good!

Yes on the vehicles directory.. i have different carriers installed than some people and when we have an online mission i take off from what is the inside of the carrier to other people, blowing it up and killing everyone at least until i learned to wait until everyone else takes off first

This looks like the best plane pack yet.. the mistel dam busting mission is alot of fun and the pe-2 is amazing as usual.

Found a few things after a couple hours of testing:

The Yak readme is missing. I had trouble with the p51 on takeoff. The p51 exhaust pipes are 3d but the tailfeathers still look 2d even when i zoom in realy close. The AI doesn't seem to be able to take off in the p51 either it travels on the ground for about two runway lengths bouncing up and down then blows up.

Haven't had a chance to test the toughened up B17 DM online yet.

I'll have to check the readme tail. It may have ended up in the parfile by mistake. doh!.

I use O for my hook. Not sure why it isn't working for you.

As in all of the folders if we rename the vehicles folder the person may want to review the vehicles that are part of the pack before putting them back - I need to issue an update on the vehicles included. Dogma, go for it.

Spin, can you please let everyone know that this is just a beta and not the finished on-line compatible PP as some have been turning up recently on-line with it installed and had no Idea that it was not released as standard yet, especially newbies.

Great job by the way.

If you chose to have all your files backed up then the restore pre pp6 filenames takes all the .old files and restores them. This works so if you have pp5.3b and contest pack 1.1 installed, after you install the pp6 and uninstall it and then run the restore prefile name batch file. You will be back to where you started.

A Note on the batch files to change the canopies and cockpits and other optional parts. The batch files for restoring the original had a bad parameter in them which I have fixed now so they don;'t work. You can install the optional ones though and if you want to go back to the original you have to either remove the /q in the batch files.

Bulldog,
I think the beta in the file name should be sufficient along with the beta in each post talking about the beta

Forgot one other thing. I will rename the Vehicles dir also.

I do understand that beta is posted everywhere but I was just letting you know of a trend that I had been seeing.

To just post something like:

THIS IS NOT ON-LINE STANDARD I did not think would hurt.

Bulldog,
I think this needs to be tested online to see if there are any problems. This isn't the online standard yet but it does need to be tested online.

Dogma, you seem to be missing my point here. It's not the fact that I don't want people who are testing the new PP to stay away from coming on line, it's the fact that newbies are visiting our forum and inadvertantly DL the new PP thinking they can still go on line and play. My point is relevant only to the inexpierenced, mainly new commers. If you don't believe me then get on-line for the next few nights and see how many turn up with missmatches due to this beta.
