Like the original, this Sea Hurricane is a modified Hurricane Mk I with the addition of folding wings, tail hook, etc. It has an effective carrier launch and landing system that makes operating from correctly scaled carriers like the Ark Royal or Zuikaku practical and fun.

More interestingly the aircraft can be launched from a catapult ramp (similar to a V1 launch ramp) on a merchant ship. During WWII the Admiralty called such vessels, CAM ships, for Catapult Aircraft Merchantmen. These ships were designed to follow the merchant convoys from England to the United States, putting them in the path of German aircraft so their fighters could intercept before the enemy could attack.

In the download there are comprehensive guides on how to operate the Sea Hurricane from the CAM ship, Ark Royal or Zuikaku and eight training missions. (CAM ship is included in the Sea Hurricane zip file)

Special thanks to Bryan Russell for his Hurricane Mk I on which the Sea Hurricane is based and AUI for his outstanding merchant ship.

cheers Mace

available at the world's slowest web site:

or if you already have Nat's excellent Ark Royal (from the Seafire download) then go directly to the 696k zip file:

3.75Kbs for me. Oh well.

I checked out the rest of your site... Incredible! Are these projects going to be included in the next plane pack? I really want them but I don't want to break online compatability.

Hey Mace, for the life of me I cant get the Hurricane to launch off the CAM ramp. I tried putting the gear up like you said but then my prop bends and the whole thing slumps over and I end up in the water. I THINK whatever you use to keep the Hurricane on the ramp breaks off right when I enter the mission... but I really have no clue.

Hmm.. It works for me. Try letting the engine warm up, flaps, gear up, and increase the throttle very slowly.
