Got the new big deal card and tried SDOE at 1600 something rez. My standard test for this game with any new card is to go to "training" pick the B-17 sit in the pilot seat and put it all the way back (zoom back) and with no movement or engines running I check the frame rates. With my old voodoo 3000 I was getting around 30 fps at 1024 rez. Witht the new Ultra in 1600 I am getting around 55 fps, not much more in 1024 by the way.

They picture is fine except for some artifacting. The edging lines such as runway edges and buildings kind of squigle. Also if I move or pan fast the objects will rip, large jaggies, ect. The spinning prop also has a breaking up look. Almost the same effect you get when you overclock a card just a little to much. Could this card be overclocked to much? I also get a little, very little, of this in CFSII.

Any ideas here? Would like to get my fave game working with this card so any graphic gurus please post.

"ripping textures"

I guessing you have "VSync" turned off ...

If you turn it "on" ... your frame-rate will be capped to what ever your monitors refresh rate is set at (by default 60)..

To "help" with the "squiggly" seams, mkae sure you have your sampling set to 8bit and quality set to "best image quality"

SDOE has problems with trilinear filtering turned on, set your drivers to bilinear filtering it will get rid of the squiggles on the runway edges.

The tear in the prop is from turning vsync off like zur said.

Zur, this card does not have any software to change Vsync. It does not have the same tweek panel that Nvidia has.

Ok I found some tweek controls and got VSync on again and it did help the ripping. I still can't shake the squiggles though. Any one know what to set the cach size in the 3d tweeks section to?

Jag please move this to "Off Topic" now, thanks.
