Okay, the airfield edging problem is out of the way and I've got the entire terrain as a stand alone. I still have a small amount of detail work to do on the main texture and then green over a few airfields. The SM work still needs completing...add the palm trees and get TailGunner to reactivate the airfields then WHAM! Ready for public consumption time. Enjoy the new shots! http://users1.50megs.com/paintshed IP: Logged |

You guys are making me use up my monthly praise quota. Really, really excellent stuff! It looks great! I can't wait to fly over those airfields while in hot pursuit of the Zero. PR=FC= IP: Logged |

Diego, looks awesome! If you wouldn't mind fielding a few ill-informed questions however... Does the water 'splash' like it should yet? Also, the island with two airstrips in the first and third images looks (to me) a lot like Valetta airfield in North Africa... is it a copy/paste? What does the top-down view of the whole terrain look like? (ie: the minimap that shows up in the top right of your screen when you're picking your country)Thanks! Werner, This new Pacific terrain IS the Africa terrain with the water sprinklers set to ultra-high! Its basically a repaint with the same airfields and towns renamed to random Solomon Islands towns and airfields. Airfields: Beja.............Kara Corleone.........Kahili El Djem..........Ballale Messaud..........Carney Tarhuna..........Renard Jadu.............Munda Kebili...........Louisa Valletta.........Segi The water splashes, palm trees replace generic trees and the AI can use the aiefields too! I've removed all traces that this was a desert terrain such as those pyramids, gun batteries with a swastika and oil wells. Like I've said, its basically a repaint and rename that can be used until Singapore or Midway approach the final stages.

Aladar, I dont know how to do that(diagnosed with the inability to use 3D modelling programs). Nat has done that in the past so it shouldnt be a problem to do. Give him a yell, I'm sure he's up to giving a fellow modeler some pointers.Werner, Sorry, I dont have an inflight map yet. Just take the original Africa map and plant some grass on it! IP: Logged |
