Hey, i noticed that the guns on the side of the fuselage are installed in a recess. Do these bullets pass through the engine, fuse, and prop? How do these work, cause thats about the wackiest arrangement i've seen.

"Whacky"? ... What would youexpect from a polish aircraft!

Actually... It's a very sound design! The machine guns fire into a rifling barrel that passes them throught the fusalage.. engine.. townsend ring.. and out the front of the aircraft (did I mention the guns are harmonized to pass between the prop-blades?)..

The advantage of this is it helps keep the mass of the aircraft close to center-line ... there-by allowing the aircraft to be more manuverable and less inertia prone!
