about the PLZ11, it works ok, but I have no weapons and a strange "airfield" shadow... is it normal? Very good anyway!li'l IP: Logged |

the PZL was mostly flown by GIANTS. The airfild shadow is Zurs way of showing scale. I think it's a cool idea.. IP: Logged |

[Zur answers sheepishly]...Umm... the airfield shadow will show if you don't have the WWI SE5a aircraft installed... It was an oversight on my part (no duh?) RE: weapons: "Be sure that you have a file named loadout.ppf in your PZL11c directory ... if not recheck your zip file! IP: Logged |

OK, here's what's on the burner... Expect to see an updated Corsair and the Dauntless before you see the Spit XIV or Hellcat tho... ------------------ --jedi-- [This message has been edited by jedi (edited 10-23-2000).] IP: Logged |

Sv - Soooo awesome! Are those released yet? Have you thought about redoing the towns at all? After my trip to France (including the Abbeville area) I realized how out-of-whack the continental villages are. I'd sketch-design and paint them if somebody built them. Werner: actually several people here in Europe complained about SDOE farms. They're so typically North American! I'd like to redo them, the problem is in Europe the traditional houses tend to look very different from one region to another. Heck, even inside one region, show me a pic of a village in Normandy and I can easily tell if it's closest to Caen or Rouen. So it's not easy to design a "generic European" looking building.IP: Logged |

Pachy - Ok, so we get a couple samples of villages in the Abbeville area and Calais area and go from there(?) Who needs generic when you can have authentic!Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

North American? Was that North American Mid-West, North American South, North American West Coast, North American New England, Canada, or Mexico?Believe it or not there is no North American generic. Since there is no generic European look either and you don't like the generic non-generic North American look, what do you want? If someone wants to spend time on this then more power to them, but don't expect to make everyone happy. And don't forget it's more than making building tifs. They need a damage model too. We have too many good ground pounders now not to blow up your hard work. IP: Logged |

Well up here in New England USA things a pretty genaric, every stupif farm house looks like the next. It is pretty, but not diverse I would love to see a pic of what French farms looked like in WWI, I am looking for this...

Jerry - what I really meant was "I have seen no building like this in Europe, and yet the game is called SDOE for Europe, so there might be a small potential improvement here". I went to Alberta this summer and the first farm I saw when I got out of Calgary made me immediately think of SDOE's red farms. This does not imply total uniformity between Anchorage and Panama.Sv, I'll try to get pictures from the place I grew up in, things haven't changed there since at least Louis the XIVth.

Did the Hellcat have the white lines in front of the cockpit? On the Corsair, the white is tape used to combat fuel leaks. I wasn't aware that the Hellcat had the same problem.IP: Logged |
