Alright, as you know I am doing the barracuda, but it doesn't seem that there is much interest . I am not using this as a reason to quit either, I am too far . So if you care about the seeing the barracuda in the game, please say... "Yes, I'd like to fly it" or "No, I think another plane is needed more". Be honest. Here is some stimuli to get ya goin... ------------------ "Don't move, if we scatter, he'll pick us off! Stand Together!"~~Aladar Visit my site! IP: Logged |

Aladar,When xoom flushed my old site the bcatp I posted a rather lamentous thread about the lack of interest in the site or its passing. The responses to that thread, and especially the subsequent email taught me something important that I hadn't learned since this is my first foray into an online sim community. When you have a situation like this where all the work contributed is done without orders or monetary reward, if you don't love what you're doing, don't do it. In other words, you need to be instrinsically motivated, not extrinsically. I applied those lessons into the design of my new site and I enjoy it much, much more than I did the bcatp. I think the same applies here - if you are enjoying the barracuda, continue. If you aren't, post the files in the public domain and proceed with something else you enjoy more. Personally I'd love to fly the Barracuda, or any other plane that people are willing to give up so much of their time to develop. I'm not trying to preach here, I realize it sounds like that but I'm honestly trying to share something that the more experienced simmers around here taught me when I was in a similar spot. The drive has to come from within, because as soon as you become a slave to public opinion the fun is lost, and then, what's the point? Werner IP: Logged |

Do it!It doesn't mater what we think, if no-one else ever downloads it, SO WHAT! If you enjoyed doing it, and enjoy flying it, that is all that matters. Perhaps people have been a little lukewarm due to previous much anticipated projects that never got finished. When you release a Beta, I'm sure you'll get the praise then! It does look good, and should be way above the standard of your previous efforts judging by the level of detail you're going for. It's bloody good stuff indeed, and will fill in some glaring gaps in this sim. Namely UK carrier planes. Also, now Mace has sussed a working catapult launch system, I have a few little ideas for an addition to the Africa terrain. Namely taking the Ark Royal, making it into an AI usable airfield, and sticking it into the med! The plan goes as follows: Add in the Ark, give it a damaged version (well, Nat has already done that!), set the takeoff points so AI can use, add to Africa Terrain. Post for use in Raid on Taranto type scenarios in North Africa. If I do that, you'll have a really good place to operate Fulmars from! IP: Logged |

You know I felt exactly the same when I was in the middle of building the A10, no-one seemed interested at all, it was Pete Hawk gave be a boost and the "need" to keep going, then once Razer got involved and T Mapped her and posted some pics it was like there was a boom of interest.I think the honest trueth is most everyone is interested, but wont really show it till there's something to look at, you know what I mean, alot of the main posters here are busy working on stuff, like to see whats going on with other builders etc, but aren't much on the encouragement side, I guess I'm the same really. Remember those imortal words and you'll be fine Aladar "Build it and they will come" cause it's true ~Nat~ IP: Logged |

The Wimpy is on break until it starts playing properly. It is some other plane that I am nearing completion of the interior on - less texturing. I just need to LOD the model, get some texturing done, and see if OPS likes it.IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. Aladar, Remember that even if you don't get alof of responce on the board people are out there that will fly it. Who would have though that 112 people would DL my Bf109z? Yet only around 5 people have actually talked about it. If your having fun keep going. IP: Logged |

Aladar,First off, you are a talented young man at 3D modeling. Secondly, you should make planes that you like and not worry about what anyone else thinks. Any plane, no matter how many times it's downloaded, adds to a longer stay for SDOE on someone's hard drive. Mine anyway. The more the merrier, right? It's not an easy task to make these 3D models, and I admire and appreciate all the work that goes into it. (That goes for all modelers). I'm sure that everyone else does too. Keep up the good work, and thanks for trying to finish your model.
