1) As a Canadian, I can't wait to see Canada in SDOE!

2) I agree with TS. I don't think there is that much of an accent difference between a typical Canadian accent and a typical American accent. (To me, the current American voice sounds a lot like Luke Skywalker....and he's from Tatooine!...but that's just me... ..)

3) I think what IS important is making sure that any differences in jargon included.

4) Kind of off topic but: In the movie Mosquito Squadron, the only way I could tell that one of the main characters was supposed to be Canadian was by his shoulder patch. I'm pretty sure the actor was British. (Moral of the story... watch out for those token Canucks... they might not be one of us...)

5) Whatever route is decided on, I support it wholeheartedly. I wish I could help out, but real life has me pretty busy until March (then it'll probably be another month before I get finished downloading all the cool stuff that keeps coming out)

For the most part, I think the two are very similar; but the typical 'yank' in WWII was either from the Minnesota through Texas belt, or Kentucky/The Virginias ( at the time, the poorest regions of the US and most likely to be 'patriotic' )..farming areas. Even pilots. So, if one wanted, yes, the US voices might be reworked with say a mild Kentucky or Tennessee accent; but Canadian pronunciation is just that much different, I think I'd rather hear it done that way. It isn't a lot of difference, but I think it would be noticeable to most.

Either way seems fine...just my preference.

My mother was born and raised in Canada (Ontario) and she had no accent I was aware of. Since most Canadians (95%) live within a couple hundred miles of the US border, I would think they would have the same level of accent northern Americans have - very little. That is unless you model the French speaking areas or the areas with large British background folks.

In the other post one Canadian said that the Aussie's thought he had a accent. Damn - compared to the Aussie's everyone has an accent! LOL!
