Well, technicly i never released Version 1, but Version 2 will surely be released in the coming weeks. It will be completely rebuilt from scratch and will boast a completely new 3D model and all new texture mapping. I will also get some of the major cockpit work out of the way for the release, if not the cockpit will be in an SM file so i can release the cockpit later without hirting online play.

I will also be releasing an updated version of Mposis's great A6M5 with updated damage stuff (your going to love this!).

So, here's the new Ki-61 before i get it in game.

Enjoy!

Looks good! Hey, I love your P-39, I'm addicted to flying tank busting missions! One question, I cant select Tiffs in 3.0, what do you have that I dont? I can only use 2.5 for tiffs.

Looking sweet! (Like all the other Ki-61 models youve done!) Im glad you are being persistant about doing this plane. We really need another Jap fighter!

That looks so much smoother than the old one!
There certainly is a lack of jap planes out there at the moment, and this one should give us another fine example. What with Mposis doing a Val, all we need now is a decent Jap Heavy Bomber.....

Razer, I remember talking with you some time ago about the Ki because I was interested in the He 100. At the time you said that you thought there might be a serious problem with the scale of the He 100, which you had used to build the Ki.

I went through the He model and found all sorts of leftover crap from the FW that it was based on (cannons in the wings and bomb shackles and stuff) and cleaned it out, but I didn't bother releasing it. I'm still pretty interested in this plane though.

So I'm curious, was the He model as broken as you originally though? If so, should I re-do the He based on it? And if that's the case, exactly what was the problem?

Spanky here...

Maury Markowitz, I think i heard something like the scale of the He100 was way off and thats why razer redid the ki61, I also heard that he was thinking of redoing the he100 based off the ki61.

Also I saw and read your article on the He100 on some website. Good work

Sounds like your the guy to do the plane.

Maybe just wait for razer to finish the 61 so you can base it off that.

Oh yeah looking good razer.

thinking back over, i don't think the scale was off as much as i lead on. I had just spent so much timeon the Ki-61 to finally see a pilot on the cockpit and be pissed cause he was way to large and sticking through the canopy. I will admit there is quite a few things different between the Ki-61 and He-100, but i feel better know that the plane is more mine with a new model then using so much of vanderstoks plane.

I'm going to get the plane in the air by sunday. Should have some good images then since i should have my new scheme done then..

Maury, the 3d model is done (minus the cockpit framing) if you want to go ahead and import it in game for the He-100. there is a few things that you'll have to change to make it an he-100, but at least the model is texture mapped this time. mail me if you want it, and i'll send it over..

Just figured i'd post this before i start putting the plane in game. It's a scheme i plan to release with the plane. It's currently about 63% done and should look really good when i'm done.

thanks PR, this is my first real plane, since i've done the model from scratch. This is all new ground for me and it's paving the way for the Ki-84.

Boo!

The wings need to be raised and the tail slid forward, but all in all i think it looks damn good. Note the flaps in the middle of the wing. This is where the old wings ended, mighty big difference don't you think? This model is to SCALE! Maury, You might want the new model
