Wavs are the key element of each new country in the nations project, and currently for Nv3 we have Eyes doing Greece (I got some samplers in the mail tonight - ) and Zur on Poland, but nobody lined up for Canada. The ideal candidate has ready access to recording capabilities in wav format (a computer with a decent mic will do nicely), an ability to project enthusiasm in their voice (remember, you're supposed to be telling your buddy a 109 is on his tail!). If you're interested, or you know somebody who can do the job (One of Tailslide's non-sdoe contacts did the russian voices) email me (link in header above this post). For more info on nations, go to Abbeville Field, the airfield, and follow the sign. Ok guys, put down your needle & thread and those pesky backpack flag badges and show some pride here!! Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! IP: Logged |

Tailslide - True enough, might just use them... As a matter of principle however I dunno, we'll see.Well, I don't want "eh, buddy, hoser at nine o'clock high. I'd stay but I'm keen on gettin' that Molson's back at base. Cya, eh?" but if anybody figures they have a voice that could pass for the stereotypical BoB canadian pilot (watch an old war movie with a token canuck in it to see what I mean, I think "Battle of Britain" has at least one) then we're good to go. Otherwise, Tail raises a good point and we might just use the American- er, North American voices as our own. Or, and I'm liking this more and more with each second, claim the "American" voices as our own since they do sound like they could be from anywhere between BC and most of Ontario, and get the US ones redone by somebody from New York or that area. Again the point being it would fit with a 'stereotypical' voice, since most wwii movies that feature the yanks have a token Bronx kid the same way British movies have token Canadians. Whaddya think? I read a few of AGAS' post about Nations V2- Australia...it seems like he had made a bit of effort in researching the actual terminology used...I believe the end result is first rate (what ever Bluegum means!).....The point I'm getting to is - has anybody researched what terminology was used for the Canadians? I'm sure you guys like me would like the end result of Nations V3 to be as historicaly accurate as possible... Echelon [This message has been edited by Echelon (edited 10-12-2000).] IP: Logged |

I love Nations todate, but if a Newyork accent was stuck on the American pilot I would...a) Never fly as an American again b) Not use Nations I think "a" is doubtfull, so let me just implore you to go down a different path in the search for the proper accents. Just my opinion. PR=FC= IP: Logged |

Im sure when our soldiers went overseas to fight, they most likely tried to differentiate themselves a lttle bit from thier british counterparts. Some of our vets might remember some cool call signs that might be uniquely "canadian". Visit your local legion. i"ll investigate but cant garuantee anything. later, eh. IP: Logged |

I'm with PR on the New York accent. If you put that in I will not fly as an American. That's all I need to hear a New Yorker telling me someone's on my 6, I would end up shooting him down instead ------------------ 7./JG3_Himdog out www.luftwaffe.net IP: Logged |

And just what do we mean by a "New York" accent anyways? I can assure you that I am a 30 year resident of NY and not once have I used the Brooklyn-like accent. Hell- I grew up 10 minutes from the Canadian border and met more people from Montreal than from "the city"! Now I live 2 hours away from NYC and still have not seen or heard much of the city talk. Anyways...just trying to keep you guys PC
