Roight then! This sheila's finally ready to shoot through. Fair dinkum. (Or Bloody Oath, depending...)

Features:

New cockpit, opening canopy
New pilot
New 3D model updates
Control surface and landing gear damage

"Australian" nation aircraft, so Nations 2.0 is REQUIRED. One of the missions has "Japanese" Zeros, not "German." Instructions included to allow you to convert the plane for RAF use if you don't have Nations 2.0

Beta away, let me know if you find something bad (or good, hopefully)

Get it here...

Great job!

A few questions on what Ive noticed so far... Dont you think the tail (Horizontal stableizers) are too sensative? Just look at how much they move!

The pilot raises his hand when I release a weapon... this would be kewl, but it goes thru the cockpit glass.

How are you modeling the control surfaces? I get some visual artifacts with them.

Other than that, kewl! I like the moving joystick and the opening canopy alot.

Few other minor details I noticed... (Im picky eh? ) The DOFs for the head and joystick are too extreme. The head clip thru the cockpit glass when it moves and the joystick move too far back and fourth. I went ahead and fixed these minor DOF things since I knew it was a 2 min. job. Hope you dont mind.

Its a blast shooting Zeros with this thing! And I love the model. Looks like a whole new plane! The damaged controls are great too!

That opening canopy is sweet. It was only today I was flying my Spit and thought that it was one of the few without opening cockpits.

Thanks jedi

D'oh! I forgot about the pilot's head going through the glass. I meant to fix that. But I think you can get away with changing a pilot.sm yourself without causing a mismatch (not 100% sure on that). Just open him up in OPS and change the limits on the head DOF.

The arm can be fixed too, but it's a really long process getting it to move just right. I was too lazy And I forgot his arm might respond to other commands, since it's a transplant from Dirk

Why do I feel like we're all talking english... but we're not at the same time.

WTG jedi! Due to midterms I haven't the time to try it out, but I really appreciate the support the plane building community has given to Nv2! Also, thanks for your patience in releasing it.

Werner

Not sure about the stabs, I didn't change the travel or properties there. I think the real Spit was fairly sensitive in pitch, but I don't know how sensitive it should "feel." In the other sims I've played, the Spit has always been one of the easiest planes to "black out" in tho.

On the ailerons, you're probably seeing the "framework." This was supposed to only be visible if you shoot up the wing, but when I put the model together it made it look a little like the ribs you can see in pictures, so I left it visible. The same thing is visible on the rudder and elevators. Not too difficult to change, but I liked it better this way.

Gun above the canopy? Hmmm. This has something to do with the fact that the pilot's head is a "turret," but I don't have the problem on "my" aircraft. I can't remember what the solution was the last time this came up (Corsair pilot). Do any of your other planes have this? I suspect that one of the pilots in your Media/pilot folder is out-of-date. I think one of the early "Dirk" D-VII pilots had this too. A little tough to track down since I don't have it on mine

This is only from the "in-cockpit" view, right? You can't see it from external?

Yep, it shows up only in the in-cockpit view. Nope, none of my other pilots/planes have this.

Karaya 2,

In short mate, yes. Jedi has done well.

".....These machines, tropicalised Mk Vc's, bore the British desert scheme of dark earth and middle stone with azure blue undersurfaces......orders were issued to overpaint the middle stone areas on these aircraft with RAAF foliage green. The new colours now became dark earth, RAAF foliage green and azure blue......Aircraft which arrived in the normal RAF day fighter scheme of dark earth, dark green and sky or sky blue were usually left unchanged."

I've sent Werner the last of my skins....they include 3 x Vc's of 452 & 457 Sqn's...hope you guys like them

Doh!...that remind me....I'm not here any more...old habits die hard

Seriously, have to go now....time is short...bye

Pete.

Another great job jedi. This plane is a real blast, especially with the new Aussie Nation.

On the gun over the pilots head, just go into the Pilot model / Phead and delete all the lods for the radio gun. That will take care of that.
