I have following question:
Is the skin correct?
On the pictures i have seen, there are 2 swastikas behind the engines.
But in SDOE no one,why?

The Go229 was started by Pete Hawk. Various others worked it, and it was finished by Panzer. As to the accuraccy of the skin? Other that its one test flight it never flew, though some (3?) complete or near complete planes were captured when the allies took the plant where it was being made.

The emblems had not been painted on the planes at the time of their capture, though they were painted on later. (IE the Gemans may not have done it that way...) Is it correct? We will probably never know.

Hmm,i have one picture in my book and i have found a few on the net. There were only three prototypes build. The third of them (near komplete) is the Go229 V3.the picture that i have, shows this plane without wings at the National Air and Space (yes space is the right place :-)) )Museum with this two swastikas.the plane number was later renamed to FE-490 and T2-490.So i thought that the swastikas was the original skin, but i donīt know it.Maybe the plane was coloured by the USA.Perhaps anyone knows it?

Actually the prototype crashed and burned during the test flight. Even so, Goering (sp?) was impressed so much, that he put it into production immediately. It is my understanding that the units captured were production units not prototypes...

Yes the last one was a production unit. The first prototype had no engines the second had and the third (with factory number 40) was complete designed, but this one was never complete build, they hadnīt screwed the wings on the plane (wonderful english ;-) ).
