Spanky here... Ok its coming along so i thought i would let ya guys try it out a bit. Its pretty cool. heres the readme so i don't have to retype everything. ************************************* Hello fellow SDOE fans. Just a little somthing i have been playing with while stuck on the libelle. Release supream alpha, LOL It will be much better after the fuse is done and i get all the 3d work and texture mapping done, then after making it its own plane and giving it a hanger pic and some missions it will be beta. then its onto the FM and DM stuff. This is of course far from done but thought some of you might want to take a look at it. and i was hoping some of the more ops inclined might be able to help me with my problems outlined in tech talk. ----------------------------------------- installation just unzip into your aircraft folder and it should make its own folder. i just fly it under bf109f4 training missions. even the AI can fly it and should be able to take off and land. ************************************** If you have any problems let me know here, or any ideas, solutions.
Visit www.simfiles.com for the download. and for those interested in the history and story behind the real plane. http://visi.net/~djohnson/mess/me109z.html [This message has been edited by Spanky the Mad Dog (edited 10-03-2000).] IP: Logged |

Spanky here.. Wa this thing really is great at taking out bombers. With 2 cannons and 4 machineguns converging at 300 feet its great. I took out 3 b17s just now and the wacky thing was i wasn't hitting the wings but the fuse, I took off the tail end in 2 out of 3 and the otherone lost his left wing. I can't wait for tommorow to get some other stuff done on it. IP: Logged |

Spanky here... Hi guys, Ok 38 people have downloaded it. Any feedback>? do you like it>? Are ya having fun>? Would you like to see further progress made on this plane as in should i finish it>? Will people fly it online>? I think it will be great in some online bomber intercepts. There also a fighter bomber version that i'm considering. **************************************** Me 109Z-4 Bomber Fuselage: 2 x Bf 109H-2 Armament: 2 x MK 108, 2x 1000 kg bombs Engines: 2 x Jumo 213E **************************************** IP: Logged |

Looking good. In the next version I'd suggest including a loadout. Plus you can make it its own plane. Once we get the KOMET and the JUEF that wil has in production, we'll need a Secret Weapons Plane Pack!------------------ -=TheReaper=- IP: Logged |

Spanky here... Ok work shall continue. I wish there was more feedback though. Nothing new to report today even though i didn't go to work. Had some baby stuff to take care of. I'm still working on getting the right fuse to have the cockpit faired over. and add some oil coolers to the center wing and seperate the present ones from the wing. (which will later have damage goodies added on later) I want to get all the 3d stuff and texture stuff done before i touch anything with the FM/DM so i have one step done. K question for the Painters out there. So far this thing is using no extra maps or anything cause when i made the new parts it stretched the old mapping. So far that works but blurs a litte. I should be redoing what i did OR i might remap the part with some of the present map. IE use the center section of the wing top map for this center wing. and the same for the tail sections. Does that sound like an ok idea>? OR i could use some of the left over parts of the maps, And theres TONS of space left. To map the new parts. Then if someone wanted to they could redo some of the old maps easily by just painting some more on the map for the new parts without starting all over. and that would mean old maps would work except some of the new parts would not be textured, I would pick a medium gray for the new surfaces so it didn't look bad.

Spanky here... Yep I messed up, thanks for letting me know. Please go over to tech talk and copy/paste/save the loadout file from there. I will DEFINATLY include it along with some new bombing stuff in the next version. Damn that sucks.

Feedback....o.k. Like it lots. It's definitely overgunned to start with, but with the planned loadouts, it should be quite fun to fly against the big bombers. I toned down the alpha, and used it to test out damage modelling on the B17. It rips up lone B17's a treat! On the texture question, you should map the wing centre section with the old wing top. There are some superb Bf109 skins done by Yardstick that would look great on this. Don't make him start all over again! If you can use whats already around, it saves having to do it yourself! What changes must be made to the sm filenames in order to put the 109z in the media\aircraft folder as the Bf109z and not as the Bf109f4 ? Any additions to the startup.ppf ?------------------ Your Eyes in the Sky IP: Logged |

Spanky, ya didn't change all the loadouts! I did the dive bombing Training mission and took out the PT boat, but the next time I played the mission the PT boat shot the back off of the right side of the plane. It was pretty cool, I was flying around with 1 1/2 planes and a lot of dead weight (since the engine died) I thought I would be able to land her, but lost stability over the lake and went into a spin under 2000 ft. ------------------ -=TheReaper=- IP: Logged |

planned loadouts? well, the ones listed in luft46 I hope!overgunned....well, I thought the cowling mg's got deleted, but when I did a bit of checking, the projected loadouts for the Zerstorer were 4 mk108's and a mk103! Now that would make the current version UNDERGUNNED! yikes! IP: Logged |

Spanky here... HEHE, K WTG since you know about guns can you translate those names into english for me>? I always get them confused. Maybe even what plane in SDOE uses that right now so i can just copy paste them. IP: Logged |

Mk 108 ... standard late war 30mm cannonsome good pictures over at www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org can't find much on the Mk 103, but it was also a 30mm cannon. All I know is that late model Hs129 packed one. IP: Logged |
