Abbeville Field: http://af.3dgw.com

Pachy's Site: http://perso.club-internet.fr/gledimet

Simfiles: www.simfiles.com

I encourage you to visit either Abbeville Field or Pachy's site if you haven't already - it's true that there are a multitude of sdoe sites out there, but sometimes you can find some really cool stuff on pages that are a bit off the beaten track.

A big thank to the ones who have made that great job. I just wonder now where I have to extract the french skins of SPIT, P47, P38 that I am painting.

It should be better to duplicate the planes in the appropriate nation and apply the skin to the copied plane.
I remember it has been already discussed but I don't remember what was said about.

Err... That is exactly what Pachy has done with his Hurricane, P39 and Lancaster, so it should be the solution.

Negative - duplicating the planes under a different nation is ArgonV's work.
While it's cool to have training missions for Australia and France, it's unclear how these "exported plane" projects are going to survive. Will ArgonV re-create his planes each time a new version of the original is released? Will the community agree to add into the online standard two or even 3 times the same aircraft, making the download size of the packs *much* bigger for as little added value as a new skin, new loadouts (that could be as well included in the original) and some training missions?

Not that I'm hostile to ArgonV's idea -right now I find it cool and have lots of fun with these planes- but I have problems with projects forking at a very early stage (the P-39 and Hurricane are BETAS, remember).

Pachy, I agree with this pragmatic aspect, but let us imagine that these duplicateed planes are not but that links point towards originals (at least the names of files of originals). Then, no care about an Alpha or Beta version, because links would point towards originals. In this way, there wontbe a lot of duplication, at least the textures themselves. But what I'm saying can be bullshit by imagining these links, it is a sight of the spirit because I do not know if it is possible to make links in a loadout.ppf. What do you think about?

Hmm... you guys bring up some interesting points. I will continue to update the copied planes as long as the origonals have ben updated. But keep in mind, how soon do you think the Hurricane or the Lancaster get updated? Probably never and if they do... it will probably be a very long time. The copied planes are infact new ones in terms of sm refrences. Some do bum off of existing ones. (The French Lancaster for instances uses some origonal texture and model refrences from the origonal Lancaster)

If you want to use your new French skins, you have to exrtract them to the approprite copied French aircrafts texture directory.

Now weather or not these aircraft are added to the plane pack is entirely up to you guys. The French and Aussies used American and British built aircraft and if you read some of the squadron histories it would be impossible to fly in these squadrons historically without these "copied" aircraft.

For now just enjoy them... there is no new plane pack yet.

Hurricane has been 'Beta' for a very long time. I don't think Bryan has the time to finish it either. Likewise his He111.

I think the issue is simply one of having French etc. planes to fly until someone does a proper 'new' plane for the nation. Dewoitine d520 or some such. In reality, though, French and Australian planes were largely US or British supplied anyway. Aussie planes would have tropical mods, but apart from a few home grown planes, converting existing planes is realistic and should be done! Thanks to ArgonV for taking the time!

Rather this than what happened with the Italian planes......still no true italian planes available after all this time. Gterl has done some 'fakes' but still no Mc200/202/205 Re2000, Br20 Cicogna, Cant Alcione, Cr42 Falco etc etc

Still, someone IS working on the SM79 again!

Thanks wakeup! Actually, I was inspired to do this by the Italian Fakes.
