Ok, I figured it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are the steps in doing it.

1. Cut/Paste all the aircraft in the aircraft folder to a folder on your desktop. (Do NOT Cut/Paste the aircraft folder itself. Just its contents.)

2. Delete the cache files but DONT delete them permanently from your recycle bin.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Start up SDOE. Visit the Training section and the Hangar section.

5. Exit the game.

6. Copy/Paste (Do NOT Cut/Paste) all the aircraft back into the aircraft folder.

7. Delete the extra aircraft that you Cut/Pasted on your desktop.

8. Restore your cache files.

9. Start up SDOE and all the aircraft SHOULD be alphabatized! It is for me!

Awesome! Argon, you rock! One question though: which cache are you referring to?

The SDOE cache files in the Media directory. These must be deleted (But not permanently) brfore you restart your computer.

Has this worked for anyone? It did for me.

Why this part? Won't they get re-cached automatically?

You can permenantly delete them. Yes Maury they do get re-cached. Haven't tried it yet Argon but I will. Its a great idea and something that has been on my mind over a year (how to do this). Great work!

does this sort them for the Mission Editor too?

If so, I'll be a happy man! It really bugs me when trying to mission build to have to search through the list every time.

Just did it and it works great! Argon is the man! Yes it works for the mission editor too!

All added planes (if you are like me you have LOTS!) show up first, and then planes in the PAR files show up next. So really there are like two sets but it's SO much easier to find things now.

Thanks Argon!

Alright Pete!!!!!!!! Im sooo happy it works for other people than just me. I havent tried it with missions or squads yet, but you can bet I will.

How I came up with this is the way planes were put in the plane list when you installed one. They either go to the bottom or the top of the list so I figured if all the planes were put in at the same time, they would all be organized. I believe you have to restart your computer so the ram gets cleared so your computer doesnt remember the previous order that they were in before you moved them. I tried it without restarting and it didnt work for me. I say delete the cache files just incase it remembers where the planes were put but restarting i believe over writes that.

Cheers!
