Hello! In fact most of this community is composed of "mature" members. We even had one member named Panzer who was... septegenarian? You're in good company. Have you seen Pete Hawk's two threads "remember these guys" and "pic contest 3"? You can even take a look at us (but who would want to? *shudder* ) Welcome aboard! Hi Poop I'm 34 like yourself and haven't done in all this time anything worth telling you about. If that's not immaturity then what is? I mean not even a wing or a wing strut or a skin? No, not me I just come here and watch go and fly a bit, spit, throw a pebble at the cat, have a beer or ten and chase some chicks. How more immature one can go? I don't know...You must have done more so you not immature, I think ------------------ 9./JG3_Poniat IP: Logged |

Agas, Pooperoonie, There is three of us (at least), how about creating an exclusive '66 Club, I mean the best year in my life so far, the heritage to be proud of. We could stick together in the air from time to time and kick some young butt or have a club badge at least? ------------------ 9./JG3_Poniat IP: Logged |

I'm 47, I think.(checks drivers licence) Ok, I'm 47. Still feel like 19, only a little slower. My wife and myself just had our silver anniversary. Boy, when I was 16 I never would have believed what I would turn out to be like at 47. From a young hippie to a Municipal Enforcement Officer. It's amazing the changes you go thru in a life timeHey, almost forgot to say, Welcome to the group, pooperoonie. Must be a sign of old age. Well, I guess it's my turn although there isn't much mystery left. (btw this also subs for a post in that looooong and OT what-we-do thread). I'm 18 years old, a University Student doing pre-science, eventually majoring in CMMB (short form for the univ's version of "genetics, etc."). I work part time doing web development for a national petroleum organization (woohoo!!) which is incredible considering I've never taken a course and only started goofing around with html three years ago. Basically though, full-time student, part-time web geek, certified insomniac. Werner ------------------ Visit Abbeville Field Today! Hey, club members! Here's a communique (whatever )1866 - was a model of that lovely Winchester smoking stick (cool brass jobbie 966 - Baptism of Poland, well I don't know how those nice Czech christian bloke mamaged to muster and stuff all those runnig wild Polish Slavs into a bowl of Holy Water but so they say... 66 - one '6' short of 666 - not too bad at all! Could have been much worse. 66 - on of those American highways where some people get their kicks (whatever ) 1866 - I must look it up somewhere, not shure of the date - the Prussians kicked some Austrian arse thanks to railway transport and those cool Dreyse needle guns 2066 - we will be flipping 100 years old, O my! Any more associations? Yours truly and madly

Off the top of my head....18 Aug 1966 - Battle of Long Tan - South Vietnam. Delta Company, 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (about 116 soldiers) was ambushed by about 2,500 VC/NVA soldiers. Outcome..... we one (if you can call it that). 17 Aussies KIA. 500+ VC/NVA KIA. VC/NVA withdrew with many casualties and their Regiments involved were never again to appear in force. A lucky one for us....but I guess that's why they call artillery 'The Lords of the Battle Field'. Cheers, AGAS 5 IP: Logged |
