Troll? How so? I didn't post any type of bait, you could simply regard this as an off-topic post.

I was registered here before this EAW incident, so its not a one-time thing.

No worries guys, I'm not gonna start anything.

Spanky here...

Well if its off topic why not post it in the off topic section>?

See here in this backwards forum we have different areas for different topics to keep it somewhat organized instead of that mess you have over there.

LOL

Yeah Von, stay awhile, I've seen posts from you here before, so I know you aint new, hey it's all fun aint it (ok, some get a little hot under the collar) but a lil fun on the boards is a good thing sometimes

PS I still feel sorry for you guys though with what you got to work with, I can see you're all trying your hardest to make stuff.. shame EAW isn't designed for it, I mean it's great for example that you're getting the Corsair, but lets be honest, it looks pretty crappy really, I know it's down to Open Plane, thats why I wouldn't be mean about it, just honest, and I reckon the guys could do alot better if they were here on SDOE where we're supposed to build our own things.

Hey, thinking about it, couldn't we give you guys some good looking models to build with? (I mean that seriously)

Thanks for the Welcome ArgonV! I've had SDOE for quite some time, and have lurked this forum for a while now. I have all the Plane Packs, and Nation and all that jazz installed.

However, I am no expert on the EAW world. I fly it because my squadron flys it. We also fly SDOE for the F4U and the online carrier landings (which are amusing to say the least ). I am more or less neutral when it comes to my preference of sim.

On the other hand I don't like it when one side claim superiority over the other. We should be allies, not enemies.

On the CombatSim forum there are also areas for specific games, and genres. There was a Off-Topic forum and a Props forum that you could've chose, but you chose EAW (I don't know if you cross posted to them all or not).

Not a flame, just trying to inject some irony into this.

That's very noble of you Nat to offer help, but I don't think it will amount to anything. Making 3d models isn't the problem, converting them to a format that EAW understands is.

So far we have to go through a complicated process of hex editing and using home grown editors to do anything.

I also agree that EAW is not modification friendly by any means. And its 3d models are not as detailed, colourful, and correct as those of SDOE.

Its terrain is making progress though. With a file of only 40kb in size we can make all of Europe as mountainous as the Alps.

But EAW is still an incredibily fun game to play online. It is smooth with a larger number of bombers, and it doesn't have the "Damage bug" (TM) And flying online in the ground attack/bomber (I'm XO and JaBo leader of JG52) role is what I mainly do.

And I understand about getting hot under the collar. SDOE is your baby, and you want to protect it from harm, insults and the like.

to all of you!

Umm that last line is supposed to read..

Salute! too you all! With the Salute! between < >, I guess the UBB was mistaking it for some type of HTML code and ignoring it.

Troll or not, this thread is definitely OT, as are a few others. Where's Mk10? I think we need another lecture on cleanliness from our communal surrogate mother.

I think Jeeves said it best with this post:

I don't think I'll be posting anymore, since whatever I post will invariably be off-topic. I will continue to pass by here occasionally though.

Take Care.
