I was skimmin through all the planes I had, to try and find one that would look good, and still be historically accurate for the Torpedo v.2, and I realized, that now we need some torpedo planes. I.e. Swordfish, Japanese 3 seater torpedo plane (Tora, Tora, Tora for example) or anyother plane that carried torpedos. I'd love to try it, but I am currently engaged with another project.

If I wasn't so busy I'd build the Swordfish, we do after all have the Ark Royal Be cool if someone could pick it up, but I think that everyone is working on more than their far share right now

Spanky here...

OH man a swordfish would kick major ass.

I would have had the start sound for it from a tv show that aired on public television up here but the vcr didn't kick in soon enough and its not going to be rebroadcast anytime soon.

Hopefully someone will pick it up.

I have to admit that i'm not to familier with planes that carriered torps. What was there>?

Aladar, have you gotten the v2 torpedo to blow up yet? Im sure it has to do with the range you are launching at. The Ark is a bigger ship to dont let the distance trick your eyes. I too have had that happen to me when I torpedo diffrent ships. I do know it does work on the Ark Royal.

P.S. Screw the Swordfish for now! We need that SDB-5 Dauntless up and beta ready! Then the Catalina and last but not least the Swordfish. Then maybe some Jap torpedo bombers after those like the Kate and the Jill and maybe for the later years a Grace.

Yes! I wasnt dreaming!

The SDB-5 sure can! I have one loaded up right this instant. What plane were you using before when you said you hadnt gotten it to work? And can you tell the range has increased?

Thanks for the feedback!!!!!!! You are the first one to comment on how the v2 Torpedo works.

P.S. Did the black, greyish silver texture show up?

Thanks agian!

P.P.S. I forgot to mention that we need an TBD Devastator after the SDB-5 and the PBY. The Devastator is one of my ALL TIME favorite torpedo planes since ever since Ive played AOTP.

Just an idea... what about modelling the v2 torp after the Japanese Long Lance? I dunno if they were air-launched as well as sea-launched, but if so that would be awwwwwesome.

I was in the model shop today and saw a kit for a FW190F8/R14 which was basically a FW190A8 with a single Torpedo slung under the fuse. I'm not a plane builder but I think our A8 just needs a fuse pylon and a new loadout, any takers LOL.

Adding a torpedo to the Fw-190A8 is no problem. I'll look into it after I release the v2 torpedo. Im also going to release a German and American torpedo. The current model is of a Mk.13 torpedo. The German model wont be hard at all to convert.

Did someone mention 'Long Lance'....

The americans were convinced you couldn't air drop a long lance, not in shallow water like Pearl Harbour......

Er...yes you can air launch a Long Lance, and they were absolutely lethal.

The Beau could pack a torpedo, the Ju88 could, and I am unsure about the Mossie.

OK...I admit-- the SBD was the first plane I strapped a torp onto...but it never really carried one AFAIK...what we really need is an Avenger...I have nagged and nagged Jag...but he never listens Aw well...it is good to have him back--- now we can get the damn Dauntless done

Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

God I hope the Dauntless gets done now. Torpedoing is just too darned fun in it! Ive ben doing it all day improving my aim. Then the Catalina. And forget the Avenger..... A Devastator is what we need!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Old, crappy, slow.... its perfect! Like a Pacific version of the Stuka minus the dive bombing part!
