Here's my new pilot wearing a helmet, before Tmapping. I figured out an easy way to just colorize polygons without mapping them and this was the first test. He'll be released with the next Harrier and will go nicely with any jet. I'm planning on doing a nice modern flight suit for him as well. IP: Logged |

wierd... maybe it just looks like he's got a wierd shaped head.. lol, I'll have to check if I changed the texture refs and uploaded it all.. probably not.. damn he must look ugly with a bubble head.. LOLAnyway.. go ahead, steal my idea, see if I care : out:: LMAO er.. that wierd smiley was supposed to be a pout.. lol ps, maybe looks better with the poly colors insted of a helmet texture.. I'll have to refine what I've done and see... then maybe I'll nick your pilot [This message has been edited by Nat (edited 09-18-2000).] IP: Logged |

For all you Max users, if you hit the M key and bring up the materials properties window you can click on one of those spheres, make it the color you want and then assign it to any part in a scene. Since there are MANY spheres (not only can you scroll that window down, but also WAY to the right in Max) you can really colorize an object for SDOE completely with just polygon colors and then export the OBJ file and import it into OPS and your SM file, and the colors remain! Pretty neat. Not difficult at all Texturing in most cases is better though but at least we all know it can be done now. IP: Logged |

I used the painted polygon method on the Harrier and it came out UGLY! So Tmapping is of course THE way to go. But you all knew that :P[This message has been edited by Pete Hawk (edited 09-22-2000).] IP: Logged |
