Hello folks,

If you're interested in some test flying, there's a brand new P47 available at http://www.algonet.se/~bjorn/p47dcontrols.zip

It models damage to the ailerons, flaps and elevators, all individually. The chance of a control surface damage is supposed to be rather small. The damage is of two kinds, the most likely is that the control surface sticks, and the less likely that you lose it. If it's lost, the wing area is reduced roughly accordingly, although the increased drag due to the sharp end is not modeled. To make the control surfaces fall off, and not just disappear, they have inertia boxes which (sorry Zur) affects FMs slightly compared to not having them. I cannot feel the effect, but I suppose some of you FM connoseurs can.

I would like to receive feedback on how well the damage works, and the reasonability of the likelihoods of the damage. Only tests will tell.

On this beta I manage to get a few objects slightly displaced. Don't bother telling me about those. They don't affect FMs or DMs, only visual appearence (and it's not that obvious.)

BTW. Send all Kudos to Raider. He's the one who solved this year-long riddle that I and so many others were conviced we needed a SDOE patch for!

"Dirty rotten FM-screwing bastard" ...[Zur mutters under his breath as he downloads the beta]

Hell, The Thunderbolt was due for a new round of FM tweaking anyways ...

Hi bjorn,

I am on it. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks for all the work. How long would it take you to redo it now if you had too or say do it on another plane?

Condor, I don't know how long it'd take. For me it'd probably take forever, since it's the experimentation and exploration I love doing. If we're talking about adding all the P47 DMs to the rest of the planes... well, lots of time for people resistent to boredom, since it's a lot of work. None is really difficult, but it's repetition, repetition, repetition of the same things over and over. Finicky little details...

Hi bjorn,

testing is going great! so far things look good. Things I have noticed:

1) ctd when an AI P47 runs out of fuel. This may be true with the normal P47 as well. Will test asap.

2) Most of the time when I get a kill on this p47 the left or right wing tips break off. Again this may be the way the normal p47 behaves as well. Will also test asap.

Thanks for the great work!!
