I guess I'm digging myself down too much in the details, but I wonder if anyone knows if the elevators for the P47 are controlled individually or as a unit? In other words, if one of the elevators is mechanically stuck, say because of a broken hinge, does that mean the other elevator is stuck too, or does it work? Modeling control surface damage is so much fun! I've waited over a year for this! _ /Bjorn.IP: Logged |

After what I know, in the Jug, you could control the elev's separately, (to a limited extent) so that if one got shot of, you could still bring the bird down to a (sort of) surviveable landing IP: Logged |

Per my FM notes... (can't remember where I scarfed them from) "The elevators were controled by a pair of syncronized cables. This afforded a fail-safe for horizonal control in the event one of the two elevators were damaged". Not sure if this answers the question or makes it more confusing? IP: Logged |

Thanks Zur. Not only does it make sense, it also makes my life a lot easier I didn't really enjoy the idea of finding a way to synchronize the damage effect. Now, this works fine, if only I could persuade the AI to understand it, it flies this thing incredibly poorly. _ /Bjorn.

That's cause they (AI) don't want to scratch the paintjob. IP: Logged |
