ok nvidia bite me bye bye geforce card hello
voodoo 4500 agp but why no glide in sdoe what happened ,I thought only the voodoo 5500 had the prob because of the 2 chips???

3dfx broke it. As of the Aug 24 release of the drivers for the v2/3 glide got broke for SDOE there as well. There is a discussion on the V5 in the 'Help' area. Me, I backed off to the Jan release of the drivers.IP: Logged |

Yes glide works,there is just so many things in the settings,1 was glide to run in software or 32bp now it works i think that was the tab wohoo i love this 4500 nice card,trust the voodoo chipsets to be reliable and trouble free,why did I ever doubt it  IP: Logged |

to hawker-what settings did you use to enable glide in sdoe with voodoo44500.Icannotget sdoe to run in glide with thecard. Tried the setting you mentioned in your post but game still crashes in glide-

go to your 3dfx advance features tab,open the open glide topic.my settings are as follows:
3d filter -automatic
alpha blending-automatic
anto aliasing-fastest quality
glide splash- enabled
legacy texture compression-enabled
level of detail bios-0
maximum buffered frames-1 pending buffer
mip map dithering-disable
rendering color depth-force 32bit rendering
triple buffering- enableto change those properties u click on the dark word you will figure it out

PS bmr make sure u set display in sdoe menu to glide and I am flying sdoe at 800x600 i believe.IP: Logged |

Hawker still no luck with glide. Please let me know if you have any other ideas about voodoo4 and glide. Would reinstalling the game help. I cleaned my registry up of files from my old creative blaster banshee and I think I installed v-4 drivers correctly. Any help would be appreciated.IP: Logged |

ur running the voodoo 4500 in 32 bit correct and you set glide up in sdoe at 800x600(a reliable resolution)in the sdoe main menu for displays?IP: Logged |

bmr change ur display settings to vga,then dont reboot windows yet,the go and get rid of your drivers,then reboot,mine worked with the stock drivers unless you have windows ME which have some beta drivers for the voodoo 4500 and 5500IP: Logged |

hawker- i changed display to vga drivers before I installed stock V-4 drivers-no luck. BTW after reinstall of drivers sugested by 3dfx tech support Icant even get D3D unless I delete beta patch- vvery frustratingIP: Logged |

Hawker-Your suggestions were on the money-I had to reinstall the game and beta patch-also the desktop and the Video card had to be set in 32 bit. Changing to standard vga driver prior to installing 3dfx drivers is a must. Last thing if you have a prior model voodoo card installed th drivers must be cleaned out of the registry. Ithink 3dfx has a tool for this- if not it can be done manually-3dfx tech supprt will talk you through it. Again thanks for the help-Could not havedone it without youIP: Logged |
