First of all pls don't flame me!I've purchased two great books about those aircrafts lately and it would be a dream to see those birds flying in SDOE. I know what you're thinking (why don't you make it yourself?)....well I'm just dreaming with open eyes OK? They're just great! I mean the first by it's size and the second about the geodetic construction....very interesting planes Check them out (latest addition at GT's HANGAR): http://www.stas.net/a872148/hist_stirling.html [url]http://www.stas.net/a872148/hist_wellington.html[url] BTW did you know that there is a 'short stirling project'? Check out the site http://homepages.tesco.net/~stirling.project/ ------------------ GT's HANGAR IP: Logged |

I have a really ugly sterling that you can try. I can convert it to .ac or .dxf for you. I've not run across a wellington yet. Also someone had the body and wings of one done but as to where that all went, I do not know.IP: Logged |

I too would love to see a Wellington and a stirling. But one thing stands in my way right now......B24.....Oh, and I've got involved with Nat and Diego and the terrain thing...... Still, I've got a functioning airfield on Midway, an airfield shaped like a carrier for the Japs to use, and a semi functional seaplane landing strip. When all the above is done, dusted and released, and I've finished the mods I started on the B17, putting in gunners and re-vamping the DM, and changing the fuse so the nose and tailgunner sections are seperated, and re-done the engine nacelles and....and...and.... Then, I will gladly have a go at a wellington and/or stirling. Whirlwind has, I think, done the FSD models, and the stirling one was bad. As is the conversion from CFS MDL. Thw Wellington one from CFS wasn't too bad, but still needs a lot of work to do. Still, this Tailgunner needs somewhere to ply his trade........ Campaign for more planes with tailguns...

Good, some place to land the Do-18G. I am just thinking about making it a non-cockpit model - just make the outside pretty and the FM decent. I just need to move the body points to water line level, lod it, fix the CP glass (it currently is missing the roof windows), and add the invisi-gear(tm) protruding just below the water line. Oh yeah, did I mention victimize someone to map the textures for it .Yep, the FSD models take a lot of tweaking to get to look decent, for the most part. Some of them don't need as much as the rest, but there is usually a bit of work to them. More often than not the tail surfaces are flat, and the cockpit canopies need a few more faces. There are some really nice FSD (ref Avro 504, Cr.32, Cr.42) which only need some cutting, a few faces added, and the tail surfaces extruded to 3D. I can model the Wimpy by eye, but don't ask me to texture it. It looks simple - I'd just need a detail/sanity man to help boost it's finish. I just get overwhealmed so easy.IP: Logged |

Yeah whirlwind, a Whitley would be fun, but only if you promise to complete the set and do a Hampden. Can you do a leaflet loadout???IP: Logged |
