Can you modify the undercarrage of the Ju87G2 to include the sirens so I can turn it into a Ju87D-3? Im still thinking about what to do about the dive brakes...------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- IP: Logged |

The Ju87D variants had the siren spinners on the wheel housings (except for some latter D models) didnt carry the Flak 18 cannons, carried drop tanks, carried a SC 1000 (2,205 lb) bomb on the center rack, could carry two SC 250 (551 lb) bombs on the multi-purpose carriers (where the small SC 50 (110 lb) bombs are on the Ju87G2 we have) or four SC 50s and had some performance diffrences (slight ones) Oh yeah... and a different skin too and the inner wing 20mm cannons were also moved more inward. Look here ---> http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002660.html for info that I typed up on the latter Stuka variants if you want a TON of info. ------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- [This message has been edited by ArgonV (edited 09-06-2000).] IP: Logged |

Plus the dive brakes and the deletion of some loadouts and addition of some others. A new skin would be nice too. ------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- IP: Logged |

Here is a pic of the "accidental" Ju87B2 I started thinking it was the D. But take a look, boy, mposis, the texture mapping on this plane is hell! I had to move the nose forward and REMAP!! ITS A BITCH! Now I gotta modify the canopy, and texture the dive siren on the gear (which is visible).------------------ "Don't move, if we scatter, he'll pick us off! If you get a B, add folding wings, hook, catapult hooks, jettisonable gear, extra tankage (heh, fuel ). As far as I know, that is all the difference between te B and the C navy version. I have a pict of one, and the wings fold back at the cord on the wing's "elbow" - leading edge down, then swivel back. I'll scan it in when I get the chance. I owe someone a BB catapult pict as well IP: Logged |

C - navalised B version, D - removed siren, no dive brakes (D-5), outer wing pannels extended, other changes, G's were D-5's with 37mm flak cannon. IP: Logged |

Whirlwind, try the link above somewhere to see the exact diffrences with the latter versions of the Ju87. Same goes for the rest of you. Im the Ju87 expert around heres! The naval "Caesar" was a slightly smaller version of the Ju87B. However, contrary to the generally accepted view the developement of the Ju87C version was not abandoned in 1939 but completed in the summer of '41 and the definitive Ju87C-1 underwent its full trails at Rechlin in '41-'42. During the developement, great attention was paid to making the aircraft float for prolonged periods in case of a ditched landing on the water. Successful tests include internal structural changes which incorporated 4 inflatable rubberised sacks (2 in the wing leading-edges and 2 in the fuse) with total capacity volume of 550 Imp gallons. The aircraft was fully stressed for catapult launches and had various naval equipment: catapult spools, quick fuel release (time: 1 minute to empty all tanks) jettisonable undercarrage for ditching in water, landing hook and manually folding wings (time: 1 minute; the wings could not be folded with attached drop tanks) The Ju87C also carried a standard dinghy and was equipped with full heating installation. It never reached full production status due to the Graf Zeppelin being canceled/haulted. ------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- IP: Logged |

When you open up the Ju87 in OPS for the first time and save, the canopy gets moved down by OPS (strange, but it happens on the Bf109s and the Fw190s too) Simply click on the file refrence and move it up using the move object tool. Also make sure your file refrence is pointing to the correct location.------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- [This message has been edited by ArgonV (edited 09-06-2000).] IP: Logged |

Oh Argon, I know about that, but ya see, If I change the shape I have to remap, and it took me all day to get it this far. I will see what I can do, thanks for the suggestion. P.S. That wasn't the problem (canopy)[This message has been edited by Aladar (edited 09-06-2000).] IP: Logged |

It is hard to link to a book . Anyways, the C-1's were rebuilt to B specs after the work on the Graf Zepplin was officially cancelled. I think there was something like 13-14 C's made. The prototype version was C-0 , the C-1 was the initial run of the 13-14. Anyways, crap don't even float in SDOE but you could make jettisonable fuel by moving the fuel tanks to seperate objects that are detachable via a key press - the farther away from normal keypress' the better. Also, remember that the B had less wing area than the D's IP: Logged |

If the canopy is a separate model (canopy.sm), it won't necessarily show up, particularly if it's not in the same directory as the airplane.sm model. The 190s are like this too.------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Is it possible that when you made the aircraft a new separate aircraft from the G2 (you did do this didnt you? copy/paste/rename/tweak?) that you didnt name something somewhere the correct name? Or give it the correct refrence?------------------ -=Make sims, not hype=- IP: Logged |

Been tryin to figure out how to get the canopy LOD's transparent. Appearntly Mposis doesn't use OPS, so I am still tryin to work it out. After that gonna have to REMAP the damn fuselage. After that clip the wings. I never got your 3-ways. Thanks for asking!------------------ "Don't move, if we scatter, he'll pick us off!
