I just noticed this recently. When nothing is going on, the sim buzzes along at around 30-40 fps, but as soon as rounds start flying the system starts choking down to 15-20 fps or worse. Either SDOE spends too much effort on ballistic modelling or it has to do with some of the animations. I might turn off smoke to see what happens. Any ideas?

This used to happen to me before I upgraded my sound card from a ISA AWE32 to a SBLive PCI.

Yep sure does, Although not as bad as that for me, I drop from say 40 to 35 or 22 to 18.

I always figued it was the animations.
