Well, I'm off on holiday for the next week, so I won't be anywhere near a PC for 6 whole days......cold turkey.....must recompile SM file.......map texture.......

Anyway, progress so far has been posted over to the rest of Project Midway, well to Diego anyway, since hotmail and explorer 5.5 have taken exception to each other....

as a taster, here is the latest pic

The carrier is close to the correct size, and the AI can use the runway fine.

Now that I have cracked the start co-ords for the planes, I may well be able to make the deck the correct size. Watch this space!!!

p.s. All the planes in the pic are happily under AI control.

again I have to say, excellent work TG and I can't tell you how happy I am that someone else has picked up the "Terrain" banner It's an area that is in desperate need of developers, and to be honest, I have most of the knowledge as to what has to be done, but not the skill to do it well enough, so the more people that are interested and work on this the better, lets face it, it's real cool having all the new aircraft, but to keep the game growing we need new terrains.. you can only fly over Dover etc so maney times before it gets boring even if in a new aircraft.

Great TG, the community owes you a big one

Thanks Nat, well, after all, you started me on this when you did Midway. It looks good and the framerates are absolutely fantastic.

Plus I'm hoping this will inspire those people working on the Dauntless, Wildcat, Hellcat etc. to get their planes finished. Then we can push for an Avenger, Kate and Val!

By the way, Could people do some testing ork for me?

I have a theory around runway co-ords, which occurred to me (in the bath just now...Eureka!!) If you fly planes from an airfield, you can set the start positions from the initial headings. That much I know. What happens if you have the AI land at an airfield? DO THEY ALWAYS USE THE SAME RUNWAY. If yes, that tells me a lot.

p.s. I think I'm going to have to put a wake on Akagi when I have it textured...
